“Worst bed ever”
The mattress was so old it was bent on one side. You would slide out of the bed. It offered absolutley no support at all. The elevator remained broken during my whole stay. Eventhough they are fixing a lot of things in there, housekepping service did not clean the room completely everyday. Hair remained in the shower from one day to the other. The sink was broken, the toilet paint was coming off the seat, the towel hanger came off the door. All I got was a neck and back ache after sleeping there for 6 nights.
“Convenient for sightseeing”
This hotel was a good value for the money. It was very close to the Metro system and good restaurants. Customer service was outstanding - the best I've ever experienced. The hotel is undergoing renovations but did not disrupt our stay. This is not the glitziest hotel, but we were treated as valued customers. I would definitely return to the Holiday Inn Eisenhower.
“Good Price Free WiFi”
My stay was pleasant, my only complain is the bed and the pillows... not impressed. They felt lumpy, could not get a good night sleep.
“Great Hotel!”
Great in every area!
“Excellent Location, Clean Rooms”
Right next to the Eisenhower Metro Station, a very easy walk to the terminal each morning and a short walk home each night. The hotel itself is probably a bit overpriced, like everything in DC, but for it's location it's well worth it. The rooms were impeccably clean, though the front desk staff was a little on the unfriendly side. We stayed in four different hotels on our road trip through the Eastern US and this hotel had the most unfriendly service. I chalk this up to being in the DC region, where no one seems happy to deal with you anyway, though. Anyway, small rooms but comfortable beds. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place near DC. The metro ride was mere minutes into DC, and there is hardly anyone on the ride into town.
“Convenient to Metro, otherwise Blah”
I chose this hotel because it had free parking and was close to the Metro and also for the indoor pool. I'm not super picky about amenities, but it was a tad lacking. Not many channels, no on demand or games, and no inputs to hook things into the TV. They had a fridge and microwave, but no little store to buy snacks. I was disappointed by the pool. It was indoor, but I don't think it was heated. It didn't open until 3pm, and the fact that there was a lifeguard on duty might have been a plus for some, but it just meant that my kids weren't allowed to swim in the deep end (even though I was right there and said they could). There was also no hot tub. The restaurant had decent food, but was overpriced, and you had to pay for breakfast. There was a bar, but I never went, so I don't know if it was any good. The shower kept going from scalding hot to freezing cold while I was in it (on the 8th floor). The beds were clean and comfortable, with choice of soft and firm pillows. But they were so high my 6 year old couldn't get in bed without climbing on the night stand. The area was good, huge movie theater, Starbucks, and restaurants right across the street, but the construction made it difficult to get around by car. Metro was one block away and very convenient. The staff were nice and the place was clean with decent prices, so I'd go back if it was just me, but not with my kids.
“Decent hotel for the money...”
Overall, it is a clean, comfortable, convenient and affordable hotel that I've stayed at multiple times when I'm in town for work. My only real complaints are that the entire hotel is a bit dated, the TVs are old school CRT TVs with snowy reception on many channels, some rooms have terrible views of roof top mechanicals, and although there are plenty of vending machines in the hotel most don't work. It typically took four or five tries at different machines to find one that worked. The restaurant bar food is okay at best, but is WAY overpriced for what it is. The staff are great though, and I can't complain about the rates, the location, the comfort or the cleanliness. I'd definitely continue to come back.
“alex”
The hotel was fine. More importantly, the staff was very good and very helpful. My mother and I went to the restaurant for breakfast, however, it was close to 11:00 a.m.and they were cleaning up and getting ready for lunch. The service staff was very kind and accommodating and was able to get us all of the items that had been on the breakfast buffet.
“Great location!”
This was a great hotel with a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning. It was extremely convenient to the Metro station - we saw all we could possibly see in DC without renting a car or cab once! Also the shuttle service was most accommodating.
“Fine for business traveler”
I stayed at this hotel for one night during a business trip. The staff was courteous, and the exterior of the hotel and its common areas were very clean, if not a bit old-fashioned. My room was very clean. However, it was also very old-feeling--feeling like the decor, linens, etc., were all from the mid-1990s. The bathroom was the worst of it. The shower/plumbing shrieked to the point it hurt my ears, and the tub did not drain. The vanity, sink, etc., simply felt old and lacking in comfort. Also, the coffee in the room was HORRIBLE. (As a business traveler, I found this extremely disappointing). The location was very convenient. Overall, I would recommend this hotel ONLY based on price. If you can afford a few dollars more than rates you would find here, it may be well worth it.
