“Great hotel, amazing neighborhood”
The hotel was easy to find, easy to check into, and lovely to stay at. Underground parking was convenient and reasonably priced. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and it was quiet. Old Town is wonderful. The hotel is well-located on King Street and it's an easy walk to a lot of amazing restaurants, book stores, antique stores, and a wonderful yarn store (fibre space on Fayette Street). I had a wonderful trip and wish I could have stayed longer.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Great service, amazing breakfast bar, many choices that varied every day & the to go bag complete with bottled water came in handy with all the walking we did. One block from the Metro. We are already planning our next visit with the Hampton Inn. Can't wait to go back!
“Great location and service”
We stayed for two nights and received the quality of service we've come to expect at Hampton Inns. The breakfast was a quality continental breakfast, and you can't beat the location in Old Town Alexandria less than a 5 minute walk from a Metro station. Didn't have time to explore Alexandria, but the convenience of the town vs. Washington DC made our weekend trip (over July 4th weekend) much more enjoyable. Staff was always very friendly and made sure we knew exactly how to get where we wanted to go.
“Totally Great Place!”
We rate this place much higher than its 2 1/2 stars--excellent, friendly service from all areas, different, excellent breakfast options daily, and, of course, location, location, location. It was so close to the King Street Metro station as well as to a huge variety of restaurants and shops in addition to being a very safe location. The pool was another bonus.
“Would surely go back again.”
The primary goal of our hotel search was to find one in this particular area which would put us near public transportation, and to include complimentary breakfast. These basics were met, but the hotel itself and the staff were beyond our expectations. All staff was friendly, and the hotel was very open and clean. My only regret is that our room options only offered double beds. With one of our children traveling with us, this left us to share such a small bed. : (
“Good location”
The location was excellent for visiting Old Town Alexandria. The local trolly stop was right out front of the hotel. Not to mention it is free. The free breakfast in the mornings was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
“Rediculous parking charge”
Overall the hotel was nice, but I was hit with a $15/day fee for parking in the garage. That was not made known at checkin. Granted I don't live in a big city so I'm not used to pay for parking, but they should have made clear the fee would be imposed. If you stay there, be aware of the extra charge.
“unexpected charge”
only thing that we did not like was the unexpected additional charge to park in the garage , $15/day and you had to do it
