“Just ok”

Not a bad location although not walking distance to any restaurants. The staff was outstanding and i appreciated the breakfast.The interior is in serious need of upgrades!

Area recommendations

Old Alexandria. Love the atmosphere, cobblestone streets, shops and it's not far away.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to review our hotel and services. I will pass your praise of our staff and our breakfast buffet. I understand your comment about interior upgrades being needed, we have been working hard on renovating our entire hotel a section at a time. This past spring we renovated all of the public space on our lobby level and the rooms and public areas on our first four floors. This month we are renovating the public areas of our remaining floors (5 thru 9) and starting renovations on an additional 45 rooms. The public areas will be completed before Christmas and the 45 rooms will be up and ready by mid February. We really are working hard to be much more than "Just ok" and hope to see you in the future to show you what we are doing. Thank you again for staying with us.

“Not impressed”

Construction was underway on my floor. Several room doors were open which made me feel unsafe as I walked down the hall. The room was not clean. Not impressed at all and will not return.

“So convenient, quiet, and comfortable”

Had free lobby internet access, fabulous hot breakfast buffet, free shuttle to Metro link stops, free parking, quiet rooms, and a little refridgerator in the room which was handy too.

“Good value for the money”

Was impressed with the amenities that were provided. This Comfort Inn provided an extensive continental breakfast that saved us over $100 in eating out. The complimentary shuttle to the Metro was the best! It was always prompt taking us and picking us up. Not a lot within walking distance. A complimentary shuttle was offered to a nearby shopping center that offered a lot of eating/shopping options. The pool was very clean and had a lifeguard on duty. There was also a little cafe that offered evening hours which was nice if you had a long day of sight-seeing and didn't want to go out again.

Staying in Alexandria, VA saves you a ton of money when you are visiting Washington, DC.

“Comfort Inn Alexandria Van dor Street”

I chosen this hotel to visit Washington DC. It´s nice and close to metro station, the staff was friendly. Good service with the shuttle to the metro station, only it could better the shuttle service would be until midnight because I was limited to return to the hotel before 10 pm, the hotel could be a list with the guest that confirm and need to return after 10pm and fix a little quantity as a tip for the shuttle´s driver. Good breakfast. The unique limitant there is not a store close near to the hotel as a mini super market that you can go walking. If you want to visit Washington DC this hotel is a good option with a good price.

“Close to everything”

The hotel is close to the beltway and the Metro. There is a lot of different food choices to suit anyone's taste. The bed was comfortable. They have a nice pool and the stay included free breakfast. Not a continental breakfast, a full breakfast. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was the toilet in our room did not work well. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone.

“I have stayed at this hotel before”

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Both times it was clean and comfortable. Although it is about 30 minutes from the heart of Washington DC, it is located right near a Metro station, and the hotel provides a prompt free shuttle to and from the station (Van Dorn station).

Area recommendations

I did not see too much of the area surrounding the hotel as each day we went directly into the DC area.

Getting around

The Metro is excellent to travel to any place in the DC area.
