Nice peaceful hotel , ideal stop off on our return from Austria to Ijmuiden ferry. Particularly enjoyed the pool and spa.

Black Forest peace
Quiet with a babbling brook as background noise. Serene! But go there to relax - and not for things to do other than, perhaps, use the indoor pool.

Exceptional value for this quality
If driving south this hotel is about 7 hours from the channel. It is exceptional value in the old German style, lots of wood and antlers on the wall. It is popular with Germans and in a hilly wooded area popular with walkers. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The spa is small, sauna x 2 and small steam room as well as a reasonable pool. Ample free parking but steep hill to lower car park. Dog friendly. Breakfast was splendid hot and cold buffet and I ate in the evening - very good food. Reception staff speak English but I would say this is primarily a German tourist hotel.

Black Forest gem
Beautiful location, lovely bright room with balcony. Nicely appointed. I liked the fact that the waitress wore traditional German dress at breakfast. Food at breakfast was good, my dinner was a bit stodgy. Staff very friendly.

Lovely hotel in the forest
Lovely typical German hotel in the heart of the Black Forest. Secluded, not much around within walking distance. Rooms are adequate, although try and book one not backing onto the road.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the Black Forest
A warm, cozy, home away from home in the middle of the Black Forest. We enjoyed great food, a clean comfortable room, and a peaceful, quiet night's rest. This was an unexpected find but hope others will seek it out and spend time there.

Great facility, not enough wait staff
This is a great hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has very good food, however, the wait staff is overburdened . Iwe ate their 2 evenings and had extremely long waits for service and between courses. A better restaurant is just down the hilll a short walk from the hotel. Not a fancy, but very good food and extremely friendly staff. Less expensive, far better service and quality food. Fabio the bartender at Monchs is a great person and was courteous, helpful and a pleasure to speak with.

Quiet hotel in a beautiful setting
We stayed the weekend in this remote hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff was wonderful except for a couple of the wait staff in the restaurant. Although remote the hotel was within 15-20 minutes of several small towns. Would definitely come again for a weekend retreat.

Ringhotel Moench's Waldhotel
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel - friendly staff, an excellent restaurant and a clean, comfortable rooms - albeit quite small. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food and the service in the restaurant.

Hotel in German Black Forest Region
This hotel and its staff understand service and friendliness. Everyone I encountered during my stay was extremely polite, couteous and friendly. Particular thanks to the restaurant staff for their company...and of course the food was magnificent!

Modernisierungsbedürftig.
Hotel benötigt dringend eine Modernisierung. Die Gänge und Zimmer leben noch den Charme der 80er Jahre. Das Fenster meines Zimmers war blind. Bad war sauber und in Ordnung, das Bett weich, aber gut. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut, jedoch erhielt ich eine Portion (Hühnergeschnetzeltes), was eher dem Gruß aus der Küche als einer Hauptspeise näher kam. Das Personal im Service war sehr freundlich und entschädigte mich mit einem Bier auf‘s Haus. Definitiv kein Handyempfang, es gibt kostenloses Wifi, von dem man aber keine Wunder erwarten darf. Wenn man die Schuhputzautomaten oder Brandmeldezentrale im Gang sieht, fühlt man sich in der Zeit um 40 Jahre zurückversetzt, also Museumsbesuch inklusive. Die Gegend um des Hotel garantiert eine ruhige Nacht, es liegt am Waldesrand in recht abgelegener Lage.

Leicht altmodisch, aber schickes, sauberes Zimmer. Schöner Wellnessbereich und exzellentes Frühstück. Etwas verwirrend beim späten Check-in: Telefonische Auskunft sagte, dass ich einen Code für den Schlüsseltresor bekomme weil die Rezeption nicht mehr besetzt sei, dieser wurde mir nicht zugestellt, aber dafür war die Rezeption besetzt.

Ein perfekter Tag in einem sehr schönen Hotel
Freundlicher Empfang an der Rezeption, gepflegtes und sauberes Zimmer, sehr groß, mit Balkon. Professioneller Service im Restaurant beim Abendessen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war gut, es wurde immer nachgefüllt.

Besser ohne Hund
Umgebung sehr schön, Hotel altbacken traditionell mit Teppich und obwohl direkt am Wald keine Moskitonetze am Fenster. Das Fenster zu bleiben, wenn man nicht aufgefressen werden wollte. Küche akzeptabel aber eher mit Daumen im Minusbereich.Eier morgens kalt, Minibrötchen Wurst & Käse..naja... könnte besser sein 15 Euro für die "Duldung" eines Hundes. Hunde sind nicht wirklich willkommen dies bekommt man schnell mit, da überall Schilder sind, was der Hund nicht darf. Nicht an die Bank vor dem Eingang piseln, nicht durch den Frühstücksraum laufen ( auch nicht an der kurzen Leine) bedeutet, man muss um auf die Terrasse zum Frühstücken zu gelangen, mit dem Hund aussen ums Haus, und dann steile Treppen hoch. Auch die Bedienung auf der Terrasse ( Kellnerin ) mochte wohl eher keine Hunde und auch keinen Humor. Sehr unfreundlich und kaltschnäutzig. Ein freundliches Guten Tag, brauchen Sie Wasser für Ihren Hund, wäre für eine Gästebewirtung wohl angebracht gewesen. Auch gibt ein Schild an der Strassenrand Wiese - Zufahrt zum Parkplatz, dass dies keine Hundetoilette ist. Wir Hundehalter können uns auch benehmen und ohne Tüte gehen wir doch nicht mehr raus....aber das Haus gibt einem nicht das Gefühl, dass man Hund dort haben will. Ein Handtuch für den Hund, auf dem Zimmer bedeute wahrscheinlich Pfoten abputzen. Ein Napf für Wasser wäre freundlich gewesen. Aus unserer Erfahrung heraus, gibt es weit aus hundefreundlichere Hotels in der Umgebung, daher von uns - keine Empfehlung!

Sehr geehrter Gast, vielen Dank das Sie sich Zeit für eine Bewertung genommen haben. Es tut uns leid, dass Sie den Anschein hatten das bei uns Hunde nicht erwünscht sind. Wir haben regelmäßig Hunde zu Besuch und diese sind herzlich Willkommen. Bei uns im Hotel gibt es nur ein Schild an der Bank vor dem Hoteleingang aus gegebenen Anlass. Das zweite Schild ist nicht auf unserem Grundstück. Es ist richtig, dass sich Hunde nicht im Frühstücksraum aufhalten dürfen, da es dort ein offenes Buffet gibt. Aus hygienischen Gründen ist es nicht anders möglich. Auf der Terrasse darf der Hund dabei sein. Da geht man außen rum, so dass der Hund gleich Bewegung hat. Abends im Restaurant darf er auch dabei sein. Mit freundlichen Grüßen vom Team des Ringhotel Mönchs Waldhotel.

mitten im Wald
Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig im Wald... leider war das Frühstücksbuffet erst 30min nach der angegebenen Uhrzeit erst vollständig. Nicht wirkliches Verständnis wurde an der Rezeption gezeigt 😖 Rest war wie gewohnt ganz gut ;)

Spitzenhotel mit Riesen Superior Zimmer und seperatem Balkon mit schönen Ausblick in den Wald Handyempfang ist schlecht dort.WLAN funktioniert (nicht auf dem Balkon) Frühstück sehr lecker und reichhaltig Sauna und Spa nicht genutzt

Gerne wieder, kann ohne Einschränkung empfehlen
Gutes Hotel mit sehr guten Frühstück und Restaurant in ruhiger Lage am Waldrand, toll zum wandern und joggen. Das Hotel ist zwar etwas älter aber in guten Zustand, auch das Zimmer war gut und ruhig.

Das zugewiesene Zimmer war recht alt und stark abgewohnt. Tapete war teilweise lose. Ecken & Kanten waren abgeschlagen. Balkon ungepflegt. Hier dröhnte auch eine Klimaanlage recht laut. Farbauswahl von Wänden, Teppichen, Möbeln war nicht aufeinander abgestimmt. Die Dusche war recht eng. Im Bad war eine Deckenlampe defekt. War die 130,- pro Nacht nicht wert.
