I have stayed at the Dorint Baden Baden in December 2013 to celebrate Christmas with my family.
We had booked 3 rooms. The hotel location is perfect, just across the street from the Christmas Market.
All the hotel staff were very helpful and attentive, especially Mr. Martin who even provided us with a Santa Claus to give away presents for my kids and nephews.
The casino is connected to the hotel by an underground passage.
The spa is quiet relaxing and diverse.
Overall experience was excellent ... I would gladly say we had a 'magical' Christmas at the Dorint!
On first appearances this hotel might disappoint as it is right next to a tram stop on a busy junction and the pavement is being repaired outside. However, the quality of the hotel far exceeds this first impression. The interior is not lavish but it is very clean and comfortable. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming.
We booked a superior room as we were travelling with a baby and were surprised and delighted to see the cot in the room with cute duvet and complementary baby toiletries. We also had complimentary drinks in the mini bar (mostly soft drinks) free WiFi and complementary breakfast buffet which was fantastic quality.
The car parking is right beneath the hotel with an elevator so access is easy.
All in all a very good value for money hotel, very central, no noise, comfortable, warm, clean, excellent staff. I could not find any faults even if I wanted to!
The Schloss Hotel is most likely the best place to stay in Karlsruhe. The charm of this house beats the post-modern pseudo-chique of most other places to stay in the area. The ride in the elevator from 1914 doesn't only take you to your room, but is also an adventure back in time. The bathroom had a real big tub and a a large window to look out from. Although, I was always late for the ham & eggs at the breakfeast buffet, the staff was always happy to make more. Easily accesible and secured parking in front of the entrance and convenient access to all public transportation of the city.

This is a very nice hotel with extremely good rates for the the quality of the hotel. the location is very good, but there's construction occurring on hear by streets.
Overall it will be one of better hotel experiences and I travel a lot (over 10 European and Asia countries in the past three years and this hotel ranks in the top three hotels I've stayed in over that time.
The Atlantic Parkhotel is set on the edge of a beautiful running stream, with magnificant old trees and parkland. For me it was somthing out of a fairytale set in the beautiful town of Baden Baden. As a travel agent I see many hotels but dont take the time to review them unless they are somthing special. The Atlantic Parkhotel has old world charm I could sit in the chimney room and imagine my great grandparents at this hotel. The room was large on European standards with a balcony overlooking the stream. The bed, linen & towels were of good quality the floor was heated in the bathroom & they had airconditioning to keep your room to the correct temprature. The staff were very helpful dinner & breakfast were good. We will be comming back to this hotel again.
The hotel is in the old town that has restricted access for cars so finding the hotel was a challenge. You can park opposite and walk across a very cute bridge or park about a 5 minute walk away trolley your bags back to the hotel (parking 5 euro per day). I would recomend contacting the hotel for directions before you arrive to make things earier for your arrival and then enjoy.

The hotel ratings, reviews and pictures just not describe our experience. We travel a lot and stay from high end hotels to mom-n-pop B&Bs. However, this was the worst hotel ever. We stayed one night of our multiple night stay as it was too nasty to remain there. The staff was happy to cancel the remaining reservation without a refund. We left anyway.
The hotel looks abandoned and has a haunted/spooky feel. It is very old, dreary, and depressing. The stairways are dark; the hallway is dark until you can find the light in the hallway (not automatic); bathroom is so old-rusty metal parts in the tub and lots of mold on the shower curtain; tissue dispenser kept falling off; one bed-side lamp didn't work; dusty all over; paint/wallpaper peeling all over the walls. We could hear other guests (showers, toilets, and other sounds) in the room. The heat worked in the bath, but not in the bedroom.
We chose it for a spa hotel and having an on-site restaurant. We tried to have dinner but was told there wasn't much food to be served and better to go into town. The 15 min walk down hill into town is not bad, but the path is dark w/lots of bushes and doesn't feel safe. The walk back up the hill is no fun. Spa--what spa? Breakfast was bad, too (along with the usual cold breakfast items, there were cold scrambled eggs and sausages)--there were 4 bullet casings outside the breakfast room window.
Overall, a bad place to stay.
We stayed the weekend in this remote hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff was wonderful except for a couple of the wait staff in the restaurant. Although remote the hotel was within 15-20 minutes of several small towns. Would definitely come again for a weekend retreat.

Baden Baden is a gorgeous city. We loved staying at this hotel because it is within walking distance to City Center. There's also a gorgeous park nearby. The hotel feels very comfortable, while also feeling more upscale. The breakfast buffet is costly, but it's quite good. The bar could use more bartenders who are familiar with how to make drinks. We asked for a Kettle One martini and the bartender kept trying to give us mix. It was a small thing and wouldn't stop me from staying here again. Great place and I highly recommend it!!
