This is how they value guests
Rushed 140 miles to see ill parent. Booked and paid for this hotel at very last minute on evening of that night. Ended up spending the night at hospital bedside, didnt even get to hotel. Having paid we then got email from hotel wanting ID (had none with us, so question if booking actually completed). Hotel wouldnt refund or credit our payment.

Hello,There is no need to leave a bad anonymous review if there is nothing to hide.You booked a room for 7th of July and paid to Expedia.You did not call or let us know that you are not coming.The room was kept for you all night and in the morning was defined as No Show.I am afraid this is a standard procedure for every accommodation.Really we cannot understand your bad review.

This hotel was ideal for the sole purpose of what was required. Putting our heads down for the night! The location was ideal in terms of road access and a quick turn either way took you to two towns/villages. The rooms were absolutely fine. Plenty of space, and a good layout. The bedbase was rather noisy so was quite loud if someone rolled over or got up for the toilet. The ensuite was grand with a powerful shower and all that was needed. The welcome was pleasant and the check in process seamless. The lobby was fine if a little dated. There was a drinks and snacks menu at reception which was nice. You could then sit outside on the patio looking at the countryside. The big issue was the attached restaurant was closed meaning no breakfast could be served. This could be a game changer for most however it didnt affect us as we went out for breakfast or popped down to M&S which was less than a mile down the road. Something to think about right now though as it doesn't look like the place will be opening anytime soon! Overall, the hotel could be doing with a little updating. The room and bathroom doors are old looking, the bedbases, the ceiling lights. All things that distract from the good of the place. We had no issues over the two nights and as i said, served the purpose of having somewhere to put our heads down.

Hello, We are very sorry to receive this feedback! It is strange bacause you stayed for 4 nights and you did not say that you are not happy with your stay. I think that the only thing that you did not like was that you were asked to show your ID at arrival. And this requirement could be read by you at the time of booking with Expedia. But I am personally sad that you were not happy.

Hi Louise, I do not know how to answer to your review, actually. You know that your partner was absolutely drunk and there was a possibility not to receive a room because of this. Damp!
As soon as I arrived and checked in I could see the place was very dated. On walking to my room as soon as I was out of the reception area the smell of damp became stronger and stronger. Upon entering my room the damp smell did not ease off and after putting the heater on for an hour plus no difference was made other than noticing the amount of dust in the air and upon looking under the bed this clearly had not been hoovered properly for some time. The internet is very very poor almost unusable for business purposes and when asked for advice on this was told to sit in front of the reception desk. After a few hours and the damp beginning to flare up my asthma I decided to cut my losses and check in to a branded hotel up the road. Disappointed as restaurant looked lovely.

Travel Plaza Hotel
Has to stay 2 nights on business and Travel Plaza was local. Check in very fast and friendly, room clean and comfortable. The restaurant next door was Indian and was reasonably priced and varied. All the staff at the hotel and restaurant were friendly and welcoming.

Okay for one night if you only need a bed
We stayed here for one night to attend a birthday party in Market Harborough. It is OK for one night but we would have been unhappy if we had stayed longer. The lady at reception was lovely and very friendly. When we went out, she asked us if everything was OK and we said yes. We should have told her about the rubbish that was in the bathroom bin which had not been emptied from the previous guests, but she was so lovely and we did not want to make a fuss. There was one packet with 2 biscuits for 3 people (we had a triple room for two adults and one 14 year old) and the bathroom looked very tired and the floor was not clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a kettle (and the said biscuits). It was cheap(ish) (£76) for a family/triple room if you did not have breakfast which would have been £9.95 per person and which we declined. To summarise, if you are only staying for a night and just need a bed, then this hotel is fine to use. I would not recommend it for longer stays and if you are used to 4 star plus hotels. It was made better by the lovely lady at reception who was extremely nice and friendly.
