The staffs seemed to be up all night disturbing one's sleep.my room had no heating,eventually got a portable heater which was extremely noisy with little heat output. My meal was horrendous the chips were as if made from cardboard, l am the lease fussy person so for me to write such a report you can only imagine what my stay was like

The hotel was hugely dated. Receptionist didn't know what he was doing. Virtually all food on the menu was not available, even though there was only two people in the bar area. Better off at a Travelodge for a quarter the price!!
Check in was slow. Kim is the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Hotel is nice, we had very comfortable beds, very quite overnight. Bar food was good, fair amount of choice to choose from. Sadly pool restrictions for children meant we couldn’t use it as we arrived at 1900. Parking very good.

I stayed here after Day 2 of a charity walk along the length of the Grand Union Canal. The very comfy room, bath and room service were exactly what I needed! The nice breakfast buffet and proximity to the path over Braunston tunnel got my morning off to a great start the following day. Thank you to all of the friendly staff, too.

No milk in the room, had to go to dining area, tv wouldn't respond to remote, had to be turned off at wall, bath's need to be removed for walk in showers as getting in bath is difficult for the older person, staff not really interested in complaints

Good hotel , easy to book and enabled a group of us to stay for school reunion . Staff excellent especially the night reception chap on Friday who helped organise taxis for us . Very spread out so can be quite far to walk to get to room . Rooms fairly basic and could do with upgrade. I like a firm mattress but mine was rock hard . Bath could be a bit steep if not fit to climb in and out . Could do with some hooks to hang towels though. Would be handy to have a fridge and some glasses for water apart from the ones in the bathroom .

We stayed at this property for a wedding at a venue nearby. It was quiet and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our room rate and had a wide selection.

Our third overnight stay at the Mercure Hotel, Daventry. Staff courteous and helpful Excellent breakfast. Being strictly honest, we thought our double room was perhaps a little overpriced even for a Friday evening. The accommodation was very comfortable!

Not such a good stay.
It was ok. I had booked two rooms one for me and one for my son in law. On checking in both were charged to me but my son in law explained that he needed to pay for his own room and so he was charged as well. I am waiting to see if a credit comes through on my account in the next couple of days. When checking out I asked if my invoice could be emailed to me. The receptionist asked me to write my email address down and told me she had emailed it but she hadn't as I have not received it. Reception staff seemed at a loss to know what to do at times. Regarding the room, it was adequate but not great. The kettle coffee tea etc is in a cupboard which I found. My two other relatives also staying in the hotel didn't think there were any tea making facilities until I told them to look in the cupboard. There was no information in the room about where to find the coffee making facilities, checking out times, breakfast times and whether other meals were available etc. At Check in I asked if I could pay for breakfast as I was expecting two people from outside to join us and wanted to pay for all of us. I was told I should pay in the morning. I did pay in the morning and was horrified to find out that breakfast is £16.50 per head. Of course you could eat as much as you wanted to. All very well but although the breakfast service was very busy (a wedding party for the day before), the food was very slow to be re filled. Most of the time two or three items were missing from the buffet.

The hotel was lovely, clean and tidy with great staff ready to help if needed.
My room was comfortable but on closer inspection it needs an extra drawer and a decoration touch up.

The hotel staff were friendly, however i purchased room service and the kitchen did not give me all the elements of the dish, and i was not given any condiments and the salt pot was empty. I called the bar and the kitchen prepared the missing but by the time that arrived with the condiments my food was cold. Also at breakfast there was no fired or pouched eggs
Very dated and run down hotel. In urgent need of a revamp!
No air conditioning, very basic rooms, the food is awful, and they still demand stupid money to stay here!
A nice hotel, good service and friendly and helpful staff. The room this time was a little tired compared to my previous stay but still clean and well stocked.
I stay at this hotel regularly for work. The service is always good but I think the hotel needs a good refresh. Feels very tired with peeling paintwork, and old furnishings/decor

We were very disappointed. Told we could take the kids swimming on arrival and then got into pool only to be kicked out as it was 'adults only'. The hotel does not have 3 bars - it has 1 (it is a nice bar though). Maybe some others for functions etc but don't be misled. Went to the main restaurant and it was terrible service - only 4 tables seated and we still waited a silly time for food. Which was then very average. Paid £140 for family of 4 and it was nowhere up to scratch or as described on menu. We would say that all the staff were very nice and the room itself was fine (not better than fine but no complaints). Just expected better - and I would say the hotel could be a really nice stay if they sorted out some problems.

We booked for 24th December and departing on 27th December as visiting family for Christmas.
I phoned to book a table for 10 on Christmas Eve as our family were going to join us for dinner. At the time of booking I was told that the Restaurant was closed as you would be setting up for Christmas Day but there would be another area allocated for dining on Christmas Eve which was not a problem for us......... oh but it was...
When we arrived to check in I spoke to the Receptionist to confirm our dinner booking to be told that this wasn't possible and she was very unhelpful and jut kept saying there was no booking but then it came out that a booking had been taking for a group booking and the room that was going to be a temporary restaurant was taken for them and the blame was put on the function team.
We didn't care whose fault it was we just wanted a table for dinner for us and our family.
I went and spoke to one of the FOH staff and she was as helpful as she could be at a very busy time of year and she did manage to sort a table out for us but due to the kitchen being busy instead of being able to order at 7.30pm as booked we could not order until 8.30pm. Not a problem for most but when you are diabetic this is a problem.

Stay was ok. Restraunt was close. Limited meal at bar. Room could do with overhaul. The batheroom door was damaged. Bath had black mold residue on sealent.

'Tired' Hotel
The hotel felt 'tired'. Lots of little things needed fixing:
- bedside light
- light in bathroom
- shampoo in leisure centre
- wall in bedroom was badly repaired
Computer system also failed and the hotel had no contingency. We had to wait over 30 mins to check-in.
