Pros: Quiet position. Clean room. Plenty of hot water.
Cons: Wifi in the rooms??
Location: Near to Peaseholm Park.
Good value stay. The building has seen better days but was clean. The staff were all polite and helpful. The breakfast was good and plentiful.

Review of the Clifton Hotel, Scarborough.

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above. Would recommend your hotel to friends but the cleanliness must be addressed.
Location: Lovely countryside, the harbour, pleasant town with reasonable shopping, the Sea Life Aquarium.
The hotel, overall, was good. The décor on the ground was very pleasing, but some of the upper floors were quite dated. The staff we came into contact with were extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was good and plentiful but the downside for us was the cleanliness of the en suite. We had to ask to have the underside of the toilet seat cleaned, the floor in there wasn't cleaned all week and the empty courtesy [shampoo etc.] bottles used by earlier guests were never removed from the bath side.

Nice hotel

Posted 28-Jan-2015
The hotel is nice but the room was abit dated but for £29.50 you can't moan about it.. The breakfast buffet was beautiful which was included.. So if you want a cheap hotel to stay look no further an book it. I would stay again

lovely location, shame about the room

Posted 28-Jan-2015 on Hotels
The hotel was situated in a lovely area, the only trouble was that the rooms were a bit outdated And didn't match the rest of the hotel. The lobby/ballroom were quite lovely and elegant but the rooms felt like they had been modernised in 2000 but not been bothered with since. The shower was quite dirty, hairs down the plughole and on the nonslip mat. The shower door was quite dirty also, lots of mould/mildew. Having worked as a housekeeper I know it is not difficult to get rid of this.
