short break

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: Staff, curtains and bed headboard, furniture in bar, lounge, reception areas.
Cons: Better information/awareness on car parking facilities prior to arriving. Drying facility for towels. Clean the carpets!! Clean the windows!!!
Location: Pickering, Robin Hood bay, Whitby, Scarborough, Moors, lovely villages, casino, bowling, sea life centre plus loads!!
Very grand looking hotel, lovely large room but carpet very stained, large stain on coffee table. Asked for and got sea view but windows so dirty couldn't see out!!! No where to dry towels! Last evening NO Heating in room. Extractor didn't work in bathroom and bathroom door wouldn't shut properly. Two tea bags each day between two people is EXTREMELY mean. Little things spoilt what would've been a brilliant room. Staff were very polite, helpful and cheerful. Perhaps stock a bottled 'ale' beer. Didn't know needed to book car parking space.

needs a good makeover

Room clean enough but the hotel is run down and badly needing a facelift. No fresh towels and room only cleaned once on our 3 night stay. On the plus side breakfast was good.

Good Location.

Pros: Overlooking the North Bay.
Cons: Programme of refurbishing to be complete.
Location: Near by : Cricket ground ,Peasholm Park , Sea Life, Bowls.
Stayed in a refurbished room which was lovely, with seaview at the front of hotel. Not all rooms have been refurbished so fell lucky to get one ,as some of guests were very negative about their rooms.

Great location

Posted 19-Jul-2014
Pros: Its location. Breakfast.
Cons: They could drop the extra charge for credit/debit card.
Location: Clifftop hotel. Handy for beach, Peasholm Park, Castle
Hotel couldn't be better placed, close to beach, town centre and all attractions. Pleasant bar and lounge with good views and cheap drinks till 6pm. Breakfast very good-fine choice and efficient staff. Booked for three nights but extended to four.

Pros: bits
Cons: the décor is very 60s looking
Location: Its on top of a hill which is a bit of a climb back up from the beach...
Staff was helpful, Food was nice, Décor needs some attention lots of cracks and damp patches all over the place. FLOOR BOARDS CREEK AND SOME ARE BROKEN UNDER FOOT...walls are thin you can hear next room talking, The car park you HAVE to book a place which should be first come first serve. I had to leave mine on the road outside which was an extra £6.00 and it got bumped into but the staff didn't seem at all bothered which Pi ed me right off,
