Nice hotel

Posted 28-Jan-2015
The hotel is nice but the room was abit dated but for £29.50 you can't moan about it.. The breakfast buffet was beautiful which was included.. So if you want a cheap hotel to stay look no further an book it. I would stay again

Love Scarbourough

Hotel was very good value, room was warm, curtains need some attention and soundproofing would help. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent. Hotel was well situated for park and miniature railway, cinema was right behind, area a bite rundown but this is the same at most of our seaside resorts. We were able to walk to Castle, town and South Pier, enjoyed our stay.

Stay was good have stayed in the past, hotel needs TLC but great value, service, and food for price.Only negative was watching elderly customers struggling to carry hot drinks and food when. At least four staff present stood watching them, this is an acident waiting to happen

extremly dissappointing

Posted 30-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the grand hotel for one night which i was un happy about, at first we where given room keys which was embrassing as this room was occupied,we where were then given another room which was really dirty when spoke to reception about this I was told that it was the only room available. The breakfast was un satifactory and un organised.,and to add insult to injury I had to pay the balance again and then claiM it back.I did not book this hotel I recieved a phone call the night before to say that they had over booked the Clifton.I was looking forward to the Clifton as I have stayed at the Clifton before and enjoyed it.This was to be a special occassion and I feel it was totally ruined.Hope to hear from you

short break

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: Staff, curtains and bed headboard, furniture in bar, lounge, reception areas.
Cons: Better information/awareness on car parking facilities prior to arriving. Drying facility for towels. Clean the carpets!! Clean the windows!!!
Location: Pickering, Robin Hood bay, Whitby, Scarborough, Moors, lovely villages, casino, bowling, sea life centre plus loads!!
Very grand looking hotel, lovely large room but carpet very stained, large stain on coffee table. Asked for and got sea view but windows so dirty couldn't see out!!! No where to dry towels! Last evening NO Heating in room. Extractor didn't work in bathroom and bathroom door wouldn't shut properly. Two tea bags each day between two people is EXTREMELY mean. Little things spoilt what would've been a brilliant room. Staff were very polite, helpful and cheerful. Perhaps stock a bottled 'ale' beer. Didn't know needed to book car parking space.
