Good base for the north shore

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Room size was good
Cons: Little bit dated but that was just the opinion of my fussy daughters!
Location: The park is nearby and the open air theatre too.
We stayed with our 2 girls and the room was a good size, with a sofa and TV area too.

Excellent gluten free meal options available

Very comfortable stay at this B&B, excellent service, very clean en suite room. Bathroom a good size with shower over bath. Bedroom smallish and decor a bit dated, but suited us just fine. Our room had great views and morning sunshine which was lovely. The included breakfast offered an excellent choice, including a GLUTEN FREE full English breakfast with homemade GF bread - no worries about contamination as a separate toaster is used, the hosts are very aware of what is necessary for coeliacs, one of them being coeliac also. The Norlands also offers an optional 3 course home-cooked evening meal for an extra, reasonable price - 3 choices are available for each course, and all can be prepared gluten free. We ate in every night of our stay and enjoyed all the meals very much (especially the lemon pudding!). We would definitely stay here again if we return to Scarborough.

Ideal for the open air theatre

Posted 30-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed when attending a concert. We we're in room 9 which had dual aspect windows, a sea view out of one and a view of the open theatre out of the other. The hotel isn't really modern but it's clean and the service was great. The breakfast was delicious and the bar on the evening had was pretty cheap. We got the open top bus to the main area of Scarborough one day (£2 return) and walked it the other (15-20 mins). We'll probably stop again even if we are just visiting scarborough.

Could not be faulted for the price

Nice pleasant people. Down side of location is that the bus service stops at a very early hour (about 6pm) so be wiling to have a long walk to town or drive/take a taxi.

ROOMS

Hotel was fine for a short stay. Very welcoming owners. Lovely sunroom/lounge and nice it was licensed. Room could have just done with a bit of tidying up though - clean which is the main thing, but just a little bit of TLC would have made it better. If we were visiting the area again we would use.
