Lovely old historic building, difficult for anyone disabled as there are lots of stairs and no lift. We were in room 7 on the top floor, accessed by 4 flights of stairs and overlooked the front area where outside drinking and dining was taking place. Staff were great, room was fine, bed comfortable. Parking in York is a nightmare, so we were directed to an expensive outdoor car park which took about 15 mins to drive to because of the roadworks, diversions etc, but about 8 mins to walk back from to the hotel. We just left the car there for the duration and, as the hotel is central, just walked everywhere. Had a lovely time.
