Cost too much

Posted 23-Feb-2015
I would describe the hotel as a posh Travelodge, everything was clean and the staff were efficient, but c'mon £145 a night!

Nice hotel with a great location

Posted 15-Feb-2015
Hotel was fab and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than expected it's self service with a wide selection that will cater for all needs. A couple of guests that were staying at the time I was should educate themselves with the term 'self service' as they had a female member of staff running round for them. Only negative thing was the mattress was to firm for me as a result only managed a couple of hours sleep. Overall great hotel and I would stay again.

Very central

Posted 14-Feb-2015
Pros: Good value. Central location. Clean and comfy.
Very central. Wasn't quite clear that parking was a bit down the hill in NCP parking which wasn't a problem, just initially confusing. Room comfortable and clean. Good selection for breakfast but bacon too hard to cut and eat. Overall, good value for price and I would use this hotel again.

Very satisfactory

Posted 12-Feb-2015
Pros: Pretty much liked the whole experience as a whole, nothing to complain about.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: The location is very central, close to the main York station, and close to the centre and shops.
The hotel was perfect, it was central and had all the necessary facilities one could need on a short weekend break. I would definitely recommend and revisit should I return to York.

Modern, clean hotel, very well located

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Value for money, location, modernity, cleanliness.
Cons: Breakfast environment is a bit too much 'canteen feel'.
Location: Central York with city centre within 10 mins walk
The Hamlton by Hilton is a very good value for money and modern hotel with just the right level of amenities and friendly, helpful staff. I would not hesitate to use again.

Shopping weekend

Posted 07-Feb-2015
The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful. A very good range for breakfast & very fresh. We had a twin room which are situated at the front of the hotel the only problem was there was a bar/club right outside our room & we could hear voices & the music for a while. This would not put us off staying at the hotel again.

A great place to stay to see York.

Posted 28-Jan-2015
Pros: The breakfast buffet was great with a wide selection of hot and cold food, I only wish I had eaten in the hotel for dinner.
Cons: If there was a sign saying where the kettle is. I only found it when I was tidying my room before I checked out.
Location: The hotel is only a few minutes from the national railway museum. The city center is 5 minutes away so you can easily explore all of York center.
I booked here as I wanted a day and a night in York as a quick escape. It is easy to get to from the train station or if you are driving there is a car park just down the street. I used it as a base to go and see York. Other reviews mentioned the noise from the bar across the street but I couldn't hear a thing (maybe it was the time of year - January). I found the reception staff friendly and had a good knowledge of local cafes, shops and attractions. They (all the hotel staff) kept the hotel clean and tidy and I've made sure to bookmark the hotels website if I want to go to York again. I'll be coming back here if I do.
