Accessible Rural Delight

Posted 24-Oct-2014
Pros: Our room was squeaky clean [most reassuring] and very comfortable. The breakfasts are freshly prepared to order with good quality ingredients.
Cons: For once, nothing comes to mind - an excellent establishment.
Location: All facilities in nearby Scarborough and local pubs offering good food nearby. Beautiful country-side nearby as is the scenic Forge Valley.
What a refreshing change to be contacted prior to our arrival to ensure that someone would be there to greet us. While this property is in a rural situation and is on a working farm, it is only a few minutes drive from Scarborough so is very accessible. There is ample car-parking that feels very safe as it is off the beaten track yet shares its access with the working farm. Owen and Karen greet every guest personally and you are made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately we were delayed en-route so arrived later than planned, Owen was able to direct us to a nearby pub that did excellent and reasonably priced food.

Nice quiet but easy access able location

Perfect place to stay .just three miles out from the centre of Scarborough. Easy access on main road by car or bus into town. Best B&b we have stayed in .very quiet location near a duck pond. The breakfasts were very adequate and delicious and cooked to order with great friendly hospitality from the owners. We had the standard double over looking the rear garden.which was very nice but Small shower room with loo and wash basin. If you want a bit more luxury ,the rooms with full size bath looked really nice. We would definitely stay there again and be happy to book the same room.

This b/b has the very best of everything.

Pros: A clean and tidy double room with everything you could wish for,and the BED must be the best bed we have ever slept in.
Karen & Owen are a lovely couple and made are 5 night stopover the best short holiday we have experienced in a bed and breakfast. A good choice of breakfast menu within a very lovely room setting. The house is in a rural setting but walk 4 mins up the road and you have the main road going to scarborough or whitby.

Ideally situated as a base

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
An exceptional B&B in a wonderful location and run by an extremely nice couple. If you want a secluded retreat within beautiful rural settings then look no further. The large and extremely breakfast will set you up for the day, looking forward to our next visit there is so much to see and do within a relatively short distance.

Very clean and friendly

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: Well cooked and presented food, with friendly family atmosphere. Very comfortable bed and bedding.
Cons: It is lovely the way it is.
Location: Near to a typical English village which is untypical in its appearance as it is completely devoid of litter and has tidy grass verges.
.We stayed for 3 nights. We were going to a wedding at the nearby Ox House Hotel. We enjoyed two visits to Scarborough and were very pleased with the location.
