“Great luxurious hotel”

This is now my favourite York hotel...and we've stayed in lots of them! Superb building full of character. Rooms very luxurious. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from executive room to a full suite. Beautiful room with huge comfy bed. Molton Brown toiletries were a nice touch. We liked to proper coffee machine in the room too, really nice to be able to make a proper cup of coffee in our room. I was very impressed with the shoe cleaning service, just left them outside the room when I went to bed and they were done for the morning! Spa was really lovely too, nice and relaxing. Didn't have any treatments though as we thought they were overpriced. Didn't eat at the hotel but we had a drink in the Whiskey lounge, quite pricey but really nice atmosphere, board games were a good idea, we enjoyed playing York monopoly. Every member of staff was really helpful and friendly, especially the porter who showed us to our room. We parked our car in the NCP car park ourselves as it worked out cheaper than valet parking and it's only a minutes walk away. Great location, just over the road from The York Wheel which is well worth a ride. Would definitely stay again for a special occasion.

“Wonderful hotel!”

Really enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Cedar Court Grand which is conveniently located a short walk from York train station. We found the staff fantastic and the service was excellent - certainly the best we have experienced in the UK! This is the first 5-star UK hotel I have been in that actually lived up to the billing.

A great hotel - definitely worthy of 5 star rating. Staff were great, courteous, helpful and efficient. Although built in 1906 the building has been carefully restored to retain that era but also with up-to-date comforts. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. When next in York will definitely stay here.

I needed a first class hotel for a single evening on a room only basis, this is what I got. My executive suite was quirky and generous, if there were a flaw it was the two beds joined together without suitable matressing above. Apart from that the stay was fantastic - my fiance said yes!

I am quite a picky traveller and it s not easy to find hotel that satisfies all criteria. this hotel does. Personalised top notch service. Concierge were very knowledgeable. Comfortable Big rooms and bathrooms. Lovely spa. Great restaurant. Suitable for Honeymooners as well as solo travelers. All for great value.

“Incredible hotel”

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. 2 mins from the station and city centre, we stayed in a standard double room which was anything but standard, it was fabulous. Separate bathroom and toilet with underfloor heating and molton brown goodies, bath robes, slippers, top quality drinks/tea/coffee etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who made us feel very welcome. Spa was excellent too.

“sublime relaxation over Jubilee weekend”

A wonderful hotel, our second visit and an enjoyable stay. We had dinner twice, try the seafood bisque, to die for if you like lobster, in a jus rather than a cream bisque.

“5 star treatment”

It was a great hotel except that it was noisy due to construction taking place starting early in the morning. The windows did not totally block out the noise of machinery. However, everything else was 5 star and great, including the spa and pool. The staff was very attentive.

“Top quality”

We chose this hotel because of it's central location and for the spa. We were not disappointed and as far as 5* spa hotels go the price was very reasonable. An historical building with very spacious rooms, high ceilings, and tasteful decor. All staff were attentative. The only real critisism is that the pool area is a little on the small side with no room around the pool for relaxing and the treatments in the spa are a little overpriced, but overall an extremely enjoyable stay, we would definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay at the Cedar Court Grand. On arrival there was a Birthday Card in my room (it was my 30th) and the staff were very helpful and engaging. The room's were fantastic. We stayed in a standard room, but the size was good and there was plenty of space. All in all, would definately return. The hotel is well positioned for the city centre and local attractions whilst being just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to at least be able to escape the noise. Thanks for a great stay!
