Old and tired.

I would not stay here again. The hotel is in dire need of refurbishment and the food left a lot to be desired. The staff were pleasant and the views marred only by the bird excrement everywhere.

Good location but in need of tlc

Pet friendly so was able to take our dog but staff levels were not adequate for the amount of guests. Bedding was clean but room was in need of refurb as carpet was thread bare and the room smelt damp.

Pros: We thought the hotel was plain
Cons: Better discription in your write up
Location: Location not recommended for disabled who have trouble walking, nothing much near by to do
We up graded our room because the lady on the desk said it was small and that you looked straight into another room.we up graded to a room with a sea view which was very plain and dissappointing.

Really tired hotel, very disappointing

Pros: The shower
Cons: More accurate description of the room.
Location: Close to the front, good location
When I booked this hotel it said that the room had 'no view'. This was misleading as the room actually had no window - it felt like sleeping in a garage, a very cold one at that!

Great in spirit, but beginning to disintegrate.

Pros: It is an amazing building, in an amazing location.
Cons: Straighten out all the lamp shades, which are seasickeningly crooked everywhere, re-organize breakfast, and invest in a better interior paint job.
Location: Lovely seaside location with lots of bling bling and horsey rides, fish and chips, slots, scenery, fishing boats, castle.
I spent a very pleasant bank holiday weekend here, and thoroughly enjoyed the town and the friendly staff. The room was OK for the money, and overall, everything did what it was supposed to do.

Cheap but dirty with a hospital feel

The hotel carpets and walls are stained and unkempt.. good location but smelly. Beds were clean so ok for a night only! Like an oap nursing home and breakfast your like cattle... Pay an extra tenner to upgrade out of the dungeon rooms!

Was okay...

We had a window at least, but with a huge gap in the frame my finger fit through. Room was a bit small, but we only went for a basic room, so didn't expect much. Bathroom smelt funny and there was a huge mark in the bath from a crack in the enamel. Due to the placement of our room, going to sleep before 11 was impossible as we were close to the cabaret bar. We were also woken at 4am by someone in an adjoining room moving about. Possibly opening and closing drawers? It sounded like they were roller skating though! And after that finished, I could hear someone else snoring. Either they were ridiculously loud or the walls are thin. I know what my money is on! Breakfast was terrible. Perfect if you want somewhere basic. Not so perfect if you like to sleep.

THIS PLACE WAS GRAND WHEN IT FIRST OPENED,NOT NOW.

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: NOT MUCH
Cons: THE BEDROOMS
Location: THE LOCATION WAS FINE
THE CHECK IN WAS LIKE THREE ACT PLAY,IT TOOK AGES,THE LIFTS WERE NO BIGGER THAN PHONE BOXES.THE ROOM WAS VERY VERY TIGHT.THE BATHROOM WAS A JOKE.THE TOILET WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SINK.WASHING AND SHAVING[YOU NEEDED TO BE A CONTORTIONIST].THE JACUSSI IN THE BATH DIDN'T WORK AT ALL.THE ROOM REALLY NEEDED SOME ATTENTION.THE CARPET DIDN'T MEET THE WALLS,THE WALLS NEEDED RE PLASTERING.

My husband and I stayed for one night, dinner bed and breakfast. The room was very clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel, obviously, is a little dated with facilities but for the overall experience it is worth a visit.

Anything but grand

Posted 12-Apr-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: More staff, they all seemed rushed off their feet
Location: Bang on the seafront and in the town centre so stunning location, loads of things to do, shops, pubs, attractions ect.
A room below ground level and a bad smell of damp, not a good start, there was no window (due to being in the basement). Was not in room long enough to grade comfort or cleanliness, the hotel was full so could not pay for an upgrade but in the end the hotel got us a room at their sister hotel across the road. A massive shame as the views of the seafront were amazing. We had gone away with friends so could have done without the hassle but the other hotel more than made up for the initial disappointment.
