“Give it a chance”
We read the reviews before we went and gave it a chance because you can't suit everyone. Glad we did as we had a fab time the hotel and staff were great, easy check in and check out. Breakfast had everything to please all sorts. We didnt have the standard room and paid the extra for the one above and it was well worth it, we had a modern decor room , lovely large bathroom with a shower and bath, only down thing was there was no bottled complimentary water.
“old world charm”
this hotel was built in 1900 for the elite. today its a pleasure to enjoy what was once only for the few. its a huge place for about 170 rooms. very spacious and comfortable, and excellent food. it also has modern facilities like indoor pool, gym, jacuzzi, sauna, etc. thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent staff.
“Ideal location”
A very good hotel, near to the town centre for shopping,eating and walking round Harrogate. It has a good swimming pool -water well heated, towels provided, sauna and dry heat room. Breakfsat had a good choice. The hotel was good value for money
“Very convenient location, luxury hotel, ideal touring base”
The hotel was comfortable, the staff were helpful, the food was very good. They also have a lovely pool and gym for guests to use. It is set in beautiful well maintained grounds, it is only a short walk into the centre of Harrogate. We would definately stay here again
“Best hotel so far in Harrogate”
Best value for money at a hotel for a long time. Accomodation was superb , food excellent and pool/spa area spot on. Will definately be returning soon for a longer stay.
“Beware car parking charges”
This hotel has one major drawback. They charge car parking. Once in harrogate you do not need your car so this can add about GBP10 a day to the cost of your visit to this Hotel. Best thing about this hotel is it's location. So central and within walking distance to all points of interest and shops, restaurants, bars etc. Our superior room was very comfortable although not serviced until late in the afternoon. Some areas of the hotel are a little tired and there is usually a wedding on at weekends so reception is always busy for check in and check out.
“Able Bodied”
I was accompanied by two elderly relatives one of which is classed as disabled.There are stairs every where.Although there is a toilet on ground level this was shut during the afternoon due to water on the floor.I understand why it was shut but it caused quite a furore when these elderly people wanted to go. I also encounted a young mum struggling with a buggy at the entrance.
“Worth staying despite the ongoing upgrade great breakfast”
We enjoyed our stay, as the hotel is being upgraded we would probably wait until it had more of the work completed before returning. Found the staff friendly and helpful ,food was good although a bit slow in coming.Good value for money for a short stay.
“Friendly staff and good location”
An old grand hotel with refurbished public areas. Bedrooms rather dated. Staff helpful and good location. Good leisure facilities, with friendly staff.
“Great location, and communal areas.”
Communal areas are stunning, location excellent, room not quite four star, bit of talc needed.
