“Not worth it, despite the price.”
2 nights, 1st room 104, very dated (think 1980's b+b), not clean, bathroom smelt and mouldy, lots of noise from party downstairs and smokers outside, we asked to be moved. Room 207 much nicer modern facilities however as we discovered, radiator didn't work, shower ran scalding hot and we could find no way of making it cooler. There was a leaking gutter right outside window (not double glazed) which sounded like niagra falls all 2nd night and kept us awake. There was also a disco of some sort 2nd night as well which was very loud and we were 3 floors up ! Twice we asked for extra bedding as none in room, it never arrived. Very disappointed overall and wished we hadn't bothered it's cheap and location is good but overall it just isn't worth it. Pay more and go elsewhere. Breakfast is nothing more than average
“overlooking Llanberis”
There was ample room for the 4-poster bed cupboards and chairs. Plenty of hanging and drawere space. Bathroom and shower a decent size and the grouting wasn't growing black mould which makes a pleasant change. Sitting in the diningroom overlooking Llanberis was a perfect relaxed start to the day and upgrade from continental to full English breakfast was only a few pounds ,less than 3 , cf other hotels we have visited where a great deal more was required . We did not have lunch or dinner so cannot comment on the quality of these but if they compare favourably with breakfast they are to be tried on further visits which we anticipate with relish. There is a drying room for boots, shoes and clothing etc which is much better and healthier than having it your room
“Old-Fashioned but still charming”
My wife and I enjoyed our two day mid-week break at this dated yet grand hotel. Arriving quite late, we were checked in quickly and welcomed warmly. We had a nice room overlooking the the hotel entrance with a fantastic view of the Snowdon mountain massif. We upgraded our breakfast for a small fee but it franky wasn`t worth it. The cheap beans and sausages were thoroughly unpleasant, therefore we opted for the inclusive continetnal breakfast, which was far nicer, the following day. The yogurt was locally-sourced and very nice indeed. Unfortunately it rained for the next 24 hours so we had plenty of time to spend in the hotel. On the whole, the hotel staff were very polite and helpful, excluding the north walian barman who thought it was more important to collect plates than serve customers. In fact , his Bulgarian colleague was far friendler and spoke better English. And Welsh. The complete lack of Guinness was shocking too! All in all, as long as you are prepared for creaky-floors aplenty and old-fasioned decor, this is the perfect hotel to use as your base for exploring Snowdonia.
“....quiet in the midst of nowhere..”
On the day based on our stay, our room and the service. This was a great little hotel. It was a bit dated, but warm and roomy with plenty to see, including Mount Snowdon, a castle, waterfall, small railway and many other sights. We enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast, the service and the area. Beautiful place with lots of parking and the village is within walking distance. Great to get away from it all...
“Adequate for a short stay”
Not the best 3 star hotel I have stayed at, but okay for a short stay if you intend to be out all day. Room was minimal with a noisy radiator which didn't give out a lot of heat. Restaurant and bar menus could be a bit more exciting. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Its saving grace is the outstandingly beautiful Snowdonia National Park where it is situated.
“hotel with charactor”
Another enjoyable stay at Legacy Victoria. We will back next month.
“Mixed”
Room was in an annex seperated from the main hotel by a long corirdor. Room was OK. When we were booking in two members of staff were discussing missing money from the petty cash float saying that it had happened before etc. Don't think that was very professional. We had a continental breakfast and things kept running out. Not enough milk there for cereal - had to wait quite a while for this - two members of staff said they were fetching it but it didn't arrive. Bread ran out for toast. meat also. bit of a disaster. Seemed to be lots of staff in the dining room just not well organised.
“Excellent, the hotel was in a good location, the staff where obliging.”
The hotel is in an excellent location for walking up Snowdon, bus stop a couple of hundred yards, depending on what path you take, so no need to take your car!! The staff are obliging and helpfull, polite!!! The evening meal was great, and so are the breakfast's. Would definatly recommend this hotel, and would go back again. Very impressed.
“llanberis most impressive hotel”
If you are going to climb Mt Snowdon or even take the train up this excellent hotel is in the perfect location just across the road from the start of the track could not have been more convenient Standard Room was large with lovely views very clean and comfortable excellent shower bathroom and comfy bed. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. staff very polite and helpful.Large well kept grounds and plenty of car parking. will certainly stay here again
