I booked the hotel without reading the reviews, but when I went through the reviews I was worried as there were too many negative reviews. But the overall experience at Park Calangute was very pleasant. The hotel was clean and gave a quite modern feel. The restaurants are very pleasant and you can spend the whole day there just doing nothing and still enjoy. The hotel is right on the beach !! It still feels a little over-priced, but the stay is worth while!! The internet is free but rooms dont get Wifi properly. The pool area and restaurants get full access to Wifi.
Overall a beautiful short vacation.
1. Very noisy
2. Wifi - Internet slow
3. Not close to beach as advertised.
4. Filthy surrounding
5. The hotel situated in the slum area.
6. Road access to the beach is not well lit, dangerous to walk alone.
7. Beware of stray dogs.
8. Breakfast very dissapointing.
I don't usually write bad reviews but I felt tricked by the annex at Siolim House. The main Siolim House is beautiful old building that has been renovated to a high standard, however the annex is a separate villa (overlooking the main road) 10 minutes away from Siolim House, not an annex as you would expect in the grounds of the main house. This was fairly very basic and in need of maintenance. Our room has broken windows covered with paper, loose floor boards, broken patio table, unloved garden and laundry and rubbish pile on the patio - definitely not worth £75 per night !! You can get this standard for half the amount closer to the beach. The staff were pleasant and helpful but did not have the tools or facilitiy to offer outstanding service. We were able to use the pool at the main house but it was inconvenient

The resort is a great place to stay for family or a group trip. The spread of the resort isn't that big to call it a resort; so if you are looking for a lonely and private place; this wont be it; but otherwise it's really a nice place. The structure and layout of resort is pretty well designed and you would enjoy almost all of amenities/ facilities of a good resort.

Perhaps by Goan standards this place is good, but despite its picture-postcard setting, I think it’s over-priced and lacking basic facilities.
My room was lacking some obvious amenities including a fridge, bath mat, hair dryer, tissues, phone. All pretty standard for a “3+ star” hotel, even in India, no?
Towels supplied aren’t of good quality and have ‘marks’ meaning they don’t look clean even if they have been washed. Bed linen and table cloths had holes and dirty marks too.
Poor tea and coffee making facilities - well actually they don’t supply coffee. Tea and sugar in a dirty bowl. In my room the kettle was located nowhere near a socket so I had to place the kettle on the floor.
Like most rooms mine had a large (CRT) television with a terrible analogue reception. Some of the “lux” rooms have flat screen televisions. Overall I’d believe there is a LOT this “hotel” or “resort” can do to improve. It is WAY too expensive compared for what it offers. From what I can gather, accommodation options in Goa are expensive. You have to pay a lot if you want something nice, as the cheaper options are not very pleasant at all.
Sadly a lot of the best places book up early, so whilst there are lots of unpleasant cheaper options, like me, you may end up here because it’s the best of what remains. It’s not awful, but should be a lot better. Management really need to improve things! Summary: Over-priced and underwhelming.
