My stay in this hotel was very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so is the transfer company employed to serve transfers from and to the airport. Very comfortable, nice and clean room for the price. 15 min to the airport and 10 min walking to small shopping mall (which is the reason why I picked up this location). The only downside is breakfast, but I guess as European I just prefer fresh products chemistry free, and this is not possible to get in the US, so all in all the experience was very good.
The hotel sets off the road and I went right past it. Just down the road it's a pretty junky, scary looking area. I called and found out why I missed it, made a u-turn and went back. The hotel is back off the road and appears to be an older model hotel so I requested to see the room first. I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw and checked in quickly to attend an event with my granddaughter. When we returned together and really looked it over we were very pleased with the room and the queen beds were wonderful! The next night I was in another city but then returned to Houston for two more nights. This time I was in a suite - King bed with sofa. HUGE handicap access bathroom with grab bars and tub chair that would be extremely nice for someone with a handicap. Rooms have small frig and microwave. Everything was very clean. The owner was very sweet and helpful. The continental breakfast was small but tasty. I have no complaints although at first, I admit, I was a little leery. It was very quiet and I felt very safe. I would definitely stay there again.
Overall, this was a really good choice. We were only staying in Houston for a couple of nights and wanted to be close to IAH. The airport was close by and only took 20 minutes. There was only one toll to pay, so there was no need to take the "toll pay" option from the rental car company. (We know for next time) This Hilton is situated in a very centralized location and next door to Sam's. I had to wake up early both mornings to do some homework and the lobby area provided an excellent place for peace and quiet and complimentary coffee. Although the breakfast was at a surcharge ($25.87 for two), it was well worth it considering you had a full kitchen and lots of healthy choices. The internet worked well both in the room and the lobby area. It was also nice to see both an iMac and Windows HP computer available to print out boarding passes in the lobby area.
We chose to stay at La Quinta based on other reviews we read. Check in was quick and simple. Room was clean upon arrival. I liked the large flat screen tv. The simple things can be pleasing too that among the hotel shampoos and body wash they provide a whole container ( not just a packet) of q-tips and cotton balls. Being close to the freeway we were wondering about the road noise but the room was very quiet. Beds were comfortable though I am not a fan of feather pillows. Check out was done over the phone. I would recommend this place and stay here again.
We had a fabulous stay at this Hotel. The front desk, Mike the Manager, the Shuttle Driving staff, Saraj & Sarah were REMARKABLE! They provided my guests with OUTSTANDING SERVICE & communication. We had a group of 27 guests & they provided us with 110% genuine personal service. Extremely hospitable with our every need. That poor shuttle got a work out! I have never experienced such personalized exceptional Shuttle Service! Saraj took my guests to a multitude shopping Malls & a variety of Great dining experiences. Sushi, Chinese, Steak, Buffet, & to Joey's Crab Shack! Rave reviews & full tummy's...a few stories to go with! All minutes from our Hotel. Did I mention FREE Shuttle services?! Some places for shopping & dining were in walking distance. The hotel provides a standard Breakfast Buffet which served the purpose & really hit the spot. If you are Canadian??NO the coffee is NOT Timmy's! Several of my guests enjoyed the Pool & Hot tub(which was nice & hot)It was not too big, very basic but a very clean pool area. I selected this hotel for a Pre & Post stay to go on a Princess Cruise. I plan on using this Hotel as my #1 choice for all my future "Cruise Hotel" needs while in Houston, TX #1 because of the exceptional service that we recieved as a fairly large group. It is only approxiamately 10 minutes from IAH, about 45 minute drive to the Pier. I organized a Shuttle Service to take us from Hotel 2 Pier-Pier 2 Hotel. I am really looking forward to staying at this Hotel again.
I booked last minute due to being too sick from food poisoning to travel on my intended departure from Houston International. From the moment I got there I knew I had made the right choice. Perfectly located in the middle of the airport terminals, it had everything I needed to salvage this setback. From the on site laundry to the Pilot supply store, I had everything imaginable, along with two great restaurants. Although the facility is a little older, it is well maintained and the personnel were all great. At check in, Leslie recognized I was well below tip top condition, and was beautiful to deal with in every way. When it came time to check out, Leah was also extremely helpful, and got my boarding passes handled in no time. (They have an on site kiosk)...
Without a doubt my unexpected side trip was the highlight of my trip. I will definitely book there for my next Houston meeting.
A great place to chill after being out of the US and traveling in five countries for five weeks! This is just the place to get my brain together again! Also, GREAT buffet breakfast, have been in 31 countries and have come back to a Houston hotel each time to chill. I certainly wish I had known about this hotel sooner, WOULD HAVE SKIPPED the other ones!!!!!! This is the hotel I will certainly stay in in the future! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!
