“Good location, clean, good price”
On the water location (not the room). Very clean and economical. Parking on site.
“Good location”
All the pictures and descriptions of the hotel were accurate. The staff was polite. The hotel was clean and well maintained but not fancy. The location was the best part. We could walk to the sundeck, indoor pool, boardwalk, and beach without shoes. We went shopping, mini-golfing, and out to eat without ever leaving our free parking space at the hotel.
“Reasonably Priced, Clean, Family Hotel”
My sisters and I spent just the Boardwalk Weekend at Virginia Beach's Seagull Inn, and we were pleasantly surprised with the value we felt we received for the price we paid. The room was clean and essentially comfortable ( I thought the pillows were hard, but other than that, no complaints). They have an indoor hot tub and heated pool - both were clean and well-maintained. There is also a convenient and reasonable bile rental on site. The hotel sits right on the boardwalk, so the location was great for biking. Little Feet's restaurant, also on site, had good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The Seagull Inn isn't a 5-star hotel, but it does offer clean, family-frienly accommodations for a beach vacation. One other thing I'll note - even though this was Boardwalk weekend, they provided a guest parking pass for my sister, and were very understanding when we had to leave the car in thier lot overnight and after we had checked out due to a dead battery. I'm planning a return visit, next year!
“Very Average”
Everything was OK , except for the bed, It was the hardest bed I have ever been on.Aftef telling the management they did put a topper on it and improved it.
“Beach Vacation”
The hotel is diffently not a four star. But it served it's purpose , a place to sleep and shower. It's in the middle of the board walk. I would stay there again. I would just bring my hair dryer. The one they have is too weak!
“Will never go back because of roaches! After one night of seeing roaches!”
After seeing a roach, they brought out exterminator and still roaches! We stayed in "updated" room that was back in the freakin' 1980's! Don't go! Go to Hilton or some big chain, not a mom and pop place!!!!!
“A little outdated, but clean and quiet”
The Sea Gull Inn is one of the older hotels in Virginia Beach with its tiny elevator and old school keys. However, it was very quiet (even with kids in neighboring rooms) and the location was great! It was near shops and restaurants, but the music in the streets and bars were farther down, yet within walking distance :) Although it was a little outdated, it was both clean and quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
“cant wait to go back next year”
we were very pleased with everything was a nice hotel would recommend it to people.the employees were nice and the rooms were kept clean every day nice balcony and right across from the beach well worth the money we really enjoyed our vacation cant wait till next year to go back.
“Would definitely stay here again”
The hotel was clean, comfortable, & convenient. The parking lot is very small. However, there is an annex lot a block & a half away. My only disapointment was the lack of a balcony. I booked what I thought was a normal room through expedia, but at check in I managed to be placed in a private suite (yay!). The private suites are facing oceanfront (unlike the other rooms), but there are no balconies & the windows don't open. All in all I had a great experience!
“Great location, thin walls”
The location of the hotel was great (literally right up against the boardwalk), and it was really nice to have a first floor room so we could basically walk outside and be on the beach. The price was just OK; not great, but not bad given the location (Expedia won't let me post the specific figure). Parking was really easy, too; the hotel kind of surrounded its own parking lot, and they just gave us a pass when we checked in that marked the days we'd be staying. We only came in one car; I'm not sure what they'd do if we wanted to check more than one car per room. My only major complaint was the walls were paper thin; starting at about 7:30 a.m., we could clearly hear our neighbors arguing loudly. The hot tub was a bit too heated and many of the jets weren't working, and the pool was a bit cold. Still, there were a lot perks to the hot tub and pool -- (no lifeguard, only a few people using both of them, open till midnight). The front desk guy was a bit frosty, too, though I can't complain about check-in and check-out: both were a breeze. They did a pretty good job cleaning our room too, though the first day we were there, Friday, they didn't come to clean, but rather, called us at about noon or 1 p.m. to ask if we need anything. In fairness, we didn't need anything, and we had occupied the room with the do not disturb sign out until noon or 1 p.m. All in all, I'd recommend staying here.
