“I'd go back again!”

I thought for the price the hotel was great and so was the staff. They were very friendly and accomodating. There was plenty of access to great food and the Waterside was quite nice.

“Incredibly average”

The hotel was very average--somewhat dated but relatively clean furnishings, but two lamps not working, two glasses dirty at arrival--but otherwise unremarkable. My main complaint was with noise--the hotel had several big events scheduled that weekend--all of which led to incredibly noisy people in the hallways and rooms the entire night. this included a two-hour screaming match in the room next to mine. Did not get a good night's sleep.

“Service was terrible”

My husband and I booked a room for a quite getaway since our jobs keep us both swamped during the year....needless to say all was well until a wedding party checked in. They ran up and down the halls all night and they put them in the room next to ours and they partied until 4 in the morning. After multiple calls down stairs, finally someone asked them to wrap it up. I will never stay there again!!!!

“incredible waterfront views”

the room was clean and there was a fitness center and indoor swimming pool. The pool was nice. The room was clean and there was wireless internet available. The only thing was not having free parking or even reduced parking for hotel guests.

Area recommendations

Ghent, Norfolk waterside due to the safety of these neighborhoods as opposed to other parts of the city.

“Amazing and Can't wait to stay there again”

The hotel was beautiful, the service was awesome... Everyone was pleasant and helpful............. we ate at shulas the steak and service were to die for, we swam in the pool and used the jacuzzi, it was clean it did not smell like indoor pool, our room was comfortable and clean and the view was awesome, I will stay here from now on and I do go to Virginia at least 4 times a year.... the only thing I did not like was to pay for parking............

Downtown Norfolk is just beautiful , the waterfront and all.... you walk out the door of the hotel and everything is right there..... you can also drive to downtown Portsmouth which is also very nice, Virginia beach is only 40 minutes away

you absolutely must eat at Shula's347 it was an awesome experience, our dinner was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row, the service was perfect, it is a little pricey but you do get what you pay for

“No need for a car”

This hotel was located close enough to anything you want to do that you could park your car and nit need it for a while weekend.

“Quick get away.”

Wonderful checkin quick and simple. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. I was hoping for a ipod dock of some kind but the comfort of the bed made up for the dock. The room was located centrally to every where I needed to be and gave a nice view. Parking is a bit of a hassle the space's out front were all occupied and congested so I had to park in the garage across the street.

Area recommendations

I recommend this area and Grandby street to other travelers. Parking in town is a hassle and once you park it's just easier to walk around. Everything is close by and easily reached on foot.

“not impressed”

This was a beautiful hotel but I was not able to get what I booked. What is the point in booking a specific type of room if you cannot receive the standards in question?The beds were comfortable and clean, but in the bathroom there was only one wash cloth and the housekeepers didn't speak any English in order to get any extra. The pool was great and so was the gym.

The location was great really close to the mall or the beach.

The mall was right across from the hotel. Thats great.

Nightlife

There are several bars and clubs right down the street from the hotel. Really convient.

“"Not Impressed"”

Room layout was not condusive to free movement. The bed should have been on a diferent wall. No refidgerator in the room. Had to ask for bath soap twice and coffee supplies. Room service seamed to be overwhelmed by the large mumber of people booked that weekend.
