“Respectable Beach Hotel”

Meets all the criteria for a reasonable price. Good value room with balcony and bathroom. Situated on the main street, Atlantic Avenue, it's right on the beach front. Lotas of places within walking distance of the hotel and VB is a typically clean and safe area. Room or hotel didn't come over as very modern. Probably due for a makeover or maybe that was just the beach style. In any case it was a pleasant place to stay while in Virginia Beach.

“never again”

I was so disappointed with this hotel! Our rooms were sooo small, way over priced and they smelled terrible! when we arrived they were 60 dollars more than quoted the bathrooms smelled like urine, and the inside pool was dirty. not to mention you had to across the road to get to the outside pool! I had booked two rooms and we had 3 cars. only one car per room so the third car had to pay for parking at the Hilton which was almost 40 dollars!!! They took out two security deposits on my debit card without my consent and told me it was policy!!! our second night there we were out most of day and our room was never cleaned or did they leave fresh towels.....Take your own food...Pizza for 2 adults and 3 kids was over 60 dollars

“Great Location for Events at the Beach”

We were there for a one night stay for a weeknight concert. There was a bus stop right across the street from the hotel which took us right to the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. That in itself was worth the stay. The hotel accommodation for one night was not oceanfront but it was a small suite with everything we needed. I would stay there for an extended stay for a beach trip in the future. The price was fair.

Events and shows
As posted earlier, if you are going to a concert or other event at the Va Beach Amphitheater, there is a bus stop right across the street from this hotel. This is a free service and sure beats fighting the traffic and parking your car in a huge lot.

“Not recommended!!”

Had reservations for handicap room, none available when we arrived even though we called to verify our reservation for handicap twice. The front desk personnel was not respectful to us or our situation (wheelchair). They just said that it was 1st come, 1st serve. It took 20 minutes for them to explain exactly what they meant by this. It seems that if a customer request a handicap room for 3 nights, he gets the room before the customer that already has a reservation but is only staying for 2 nights. Fair? No. Will use this hotel again? No.

“Adequate accomodations for off-season rates”

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay on the oceanfront. For off-season rates in October, this fit the bill. Room is on the small size, but it was clean. It was nice to have a balcony to watch the sunrise over the ocean. Nothing fancy, but just fine considering the price.

“Extra helpful staff and good restaurant”

The best thing about this hotel is that they expeditiously sent me my laptop computer which I had stupidly left in my room when I checked out. The hotel is situated just north of the middle of the beachfront, with easy access to the beach activities. It is right on the beach so you can walk out of your room to the beach. The parking lot at the hotel is small, but they have a large parking garage conveniently located just across the street. Inside the hotel is a nice restaurant (Angelo's by the Sea), a fitness center, indoor pool, and ice cream parlor. It seems to be a somewhat older building, but it is well maintained. Rooms have a refrigerator to hold those cold drinks you can buy at a convenience store across the street or at the supermarket 4 blocks away. I arrived late in the day before my reservation and they graciously found me a room for the night at the lowest rate even though they were filling up the hotel fast. My four nights there were in a comfortable room with great ocean views. The staff was extra-friendly, the front desk people very helpful, and the restaurant staff efficient and knowledgeable. My dinner in the restaurant was great,w ith a good Italian menu. If I had to point to one disappointment, it would be the lack of TV stations they offer in the room, compared to cable or satellite. I would stay at this facility again and recommend it to both families and couples who want a reasonable rate, a great beachfront, and a convenient Virginia Beach location.

Area recommendations
I came to Virginia Beach to see the Neptune Festival, held every year the last weekend in September. The festival features a huge arts and crafts show, the North American Sandsculpture Championship, lots of food to choose from, an old fashioned home town parade, and loads of free entertainment (country, rock, hip-hop). It is great fun. In addition, the normal Virginia Beach attractions are there. These include lots of good restaurants, the great beach, the wonderful boardwalk, surf or ocean fishing, shops of all kinds, and nightlife of all different kinds, There are fishing charters, tour boats, ecological tours of the back bay, and cultural attractions (including those in nearby Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown.

“Last Hoorah before school”

We take our Great nephews every year before they go back to school. The hotel is very nice. The only complaint was none of the games in the game room worked. We lost a lot of quarters. I do recommend the hotel. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and pretty spacious, and the restaurant is good. We had a great time.

“Great Location, Great Service, Decent Rooms.”

This hotel was a bit dated, but I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, if a little old, and we had a balcony that opened onto the beach. We arrived very early and the staff was happy to hold our luggage until check in. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly from the front desk staff who chatted us up about our home town to the maid who asked if we were checking out the next day and cheerfully told us to take our time leaving. Once I stepped out of my room with an ice bucket and an employee who was setting up a conference room stopped what she was doing and showed me to the most convenient ice machine. I was extremely impressed with the service for the price of my room. Yes, the parking lot is small but we lucked out and found a spot right away. Like I said, hotel isn't the newest, but what do you expect for a budget beach hotel? With the great service I'd definitely stay here again. The hotel was also in a great central location to all the boardwalk and beach stuff.

Area recommendations
Explore some of the restaurants/shops off the main drag. We found good eats on Pacific Avenue (one block behind Atlantic) and some really cute home stores on Laskin Road between Pacific and Arcitic avenues.
Getting around
Get a hotel on Atlantic Avenue so you can park your car for the duration of your trip.
