We arrived by Amtrak to the Norfolk station. I called this hotel for a ride and they sent a shuttle van to pick us up. The drive was very helpful and friendly. Hotel check-in was smooth. I asked the woman working there the night we arrived for a room facing the harbor. After a few moments, she gave us a room facing the harbor with a balcony! I couldn't ask for a better room for the 3 nights we stayed there. Watching the ships in the harbor was a lot of fun for myself and my children. Also, the ferry to Portsmouth was docked right outside the hotel. You can walk right to the dock and take the ferry over to the town of Portsmouth and enjoy several dining and family activities there. You can also walk to the USS Wisconsin from the hotel along a nice harbor walking path and enjoy the museum and ship located there. I would definitely stay here again and recommend ignoring negative reviews based on room furniture. Sure it's older and maybe a little warn, but the room was very clean. Breakfasts downstairs, including a full omelet bar was really excellent, although a little pricey.
The hotel was nice staff could have been a bit more friendly. The rooms bathroom had hair in it which was a little disturbing but taken care of as soon as I called. The bed linens had to get changed the first night because they had makeup in them. But that also was taken care of immediately so therefore I wasn't too concerned about it. If something was wrong all that needed to happen was a phone call and it would be taken care of in less than 10 minutes which is great!
In town for a wedding at the Chrysler Museum, so a perfect distance away while also being close to the harbor. We were unaware of harborfest so that was an added treat along with the plethora of restaurants surrounding the hotel. Nice amenities and a comfortable bed.
We were happy with our stay, we booked 3 rooms, they were clean, what I didn't like there was a little burn on my comforter like a cigarette burn my room was a "no smoking". Very nice staff, I will stay again.
*I can't say enough how helpful and kind the hotel staff were. Genuine interaction with customers, even during hectic and busy times.
*The location to the bay can't be beat. Very convenient for families with children.
*Loved the setup of the suite, having a small kitchen was a perfect amenity.
*The condition of the pool was great. It was checked and kept tidy each day we were there.
*The condition of the room was less than expected. I would say that the photographer is excellent, because the rooms appeared much nicer than the one we stayed in. I'm not meaning to bash the place, but the carpet could have used a VERY thorough scrubbing, the fold out couch/bed also needed a deep clean, had food in it when we unfolded it, and its mattress was noticeably stained. Separate bedroom had a large water stain in the ceiling.
*Sheets were very clean and pillows very comfortable.
*While the breakfast area was small, the foods offered were fresh, hot, and plentiful at all times. The staff overseeing this area were so kind and happy. They took care of each request cheerfully.

Hotel was great for the price! My love having his on private space with a pull out couch and his own TV. My only complaint is the pet if the room where the pull out couch didn't have A/C so it was hot if we closed the door
Virginia’s second-largest city, Norfolk, is the cultural and business center of the Hampton Roads region in southeastern Virginia. The city is known for its distinct neighborhoods, water-centric culture, and the strong presence of the US Navy—the Norfolk Naval Base is one of the world’s largest. America’s Historic Triangle—Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown—is within an hour’s drive.
