Lunchtime menu was only basic sandwiches with cheap bread. Everything else about stay was very good, just avoid lunch.

In the historic centre of Norwich near the cathedral and restaurants. 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Rooms are of a good standard and the WinePress (Michelin rosette restaurant) is very good. Use it as a base to explore the North Norfolk Coast. My only criticism was that my room was roadside and busses ran until after midnight. Ask for a quiet room.

nice old-world charm and comfort but a challenge to get to from rooms which are up and down old staircases along old narrow and uneven corridors - not for anyone with mobility issues! But we had a good stay with welcoming staff, a pleasant bar and comfortable room. :)

Lovely place , full of old world charm. Staff were brilliant and the food very good too. Conveniently located near to the centre, with evenings having a lively, pleasant atmosphere.

The location is excellent, a few minutes' walk from the cathedral through cobbled streets with jettied buildings. Walk a little north over the Wensum and there are multiple opportunities to browse antiques and hunt for bargains in the charity shops and a fine record store. The hotel is well-appointed, staff are very helpful, the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Top marks.

Great stay at this hotel. Room had lovely decor and was very roomy. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Special thanks to the lady on the night desk last night who ordered our friend a taxi to get her home! My friend wasn’t able to get a taxi for another 5 hours! But the lady arranged one for 10 minutes!! Excellent service!

The small touches were appreciated: you could make housekeeping requests if you didn’t want the room cleaned one day. I am a vegan and would have loved to eat in the hotel but there wasn’t much on the menu I could have. Maybe you could consider more plant-based food as it is now so popular? Looking forward to my next visit to this great hotel in a beautiful city.

Was very pleasantly surprised. Nice hotel, good location. The iPad in the room didn’t work, the bar was very short staffed and the shower water was tepid, but overall I would recommend this hotel. Parking on site was great.

It is an old property built on many levels so there are a fair few steps up and down. Regency suite was lovely but out of the way. Care will be needed as stairs and corridors to suite are uneven as to age of the property. Over all the stay was amazing food is great and couldn't fault anything.

Excellent experience from start to finish, we received a complimentary upgrade which was wonderful also a anniversary card and sweets left in the room, most appreciated. The staff all gave wonderful service and the whole property was spotless which speaks volumes.. 😀 Thank you

It's a wonderful historic hotel with a cute pub in the hotel. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, very clean & we had a view of Norwich Cathedral. Just a few things to mention. The bathroom in our room and near reception needs general maintenance, shower gel & toilet roll holders were falling off the walls. Also, the staff at breakfast seemed a bit rushed & brusk. Still a lovely place and we'll come back.

A nice hotel but my window was broken and stuck open. I had cigarette smoke coming all night, keeping me awake. In the morning the hotel boilers broken down so had to have a cold shower and shave. Was glad to leave.

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. It is situated close to the cathedral and in easy walking distance of the town centre and the river walk, which is lovely.

A lovely place to stay.
