Really nice place. Excellent staff. Very clean & modernized. Bright & cheerful. Great location. This is my second stay here. Multiple stays ant The Dales. All Mackenzie Hotels are fantastically well run.

Overnight Business Trip but Impressed!
Absolutely superb service from Ann and Sharon this stay. Both extremely courteous and unbelievably professional even extending on a welfare check as I hadn’t arrived earlier and some toast as the restaurant had closed. Although a short trip, I was very impressed by their hospitality and will return soon.

The building is attractive outside. My room on the third floor wasn't easy to reach. The lift is cumbersome to use especially with luggage and only goes to the second floor. My room had a cold draught coming under the door. Not easy to escape. TV reception poor not sufficient freeview channels.

Good breakfast and service but some problems
No extractor fan in en suite. Room not particularly warm. Pool was nice but there was a children's swimming class running the first time we attended. It would have been better to have been informed of this in order to chose a different time to swim. Changing room was very cold.Poor signal on TV.Hotel a little scruffy but the service and breakfast were very good.

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from my own. Loved the huge walk in shower too, had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and a wonderful nights sleep. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would most definitely stay again.

I stayed in an excellent value single room. It was an understandably small room (exactly what I expected), but it provided all that was needed. The bed was incredibly comfy, it was quiet, and the shower was powerful and hot. An excellent experience.

Good end of season weekend stay
Reception staff efficient, friendly. We only had bed and board so cannot comment on anything apart from the room (basic, clean comfortable, nice shower, no hooks to hang things in bathroom though), setting is quiet and peaceful (visited late Sept weekend). Pool has CCTV at reception desk which anyone can see at the desk which we found creepy so didn’t use the pool in the end. Will stay again as so near West Runton train station and buses in the village. Best bit of the beach is between west Runton and East Runton.

Straight forward hotel at reasonable price. Only quibble is cost of breakfast, so if you do go for breakfast eat a lot!!!

Not the weakest link.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The main bugbear was that we had to ask for toilet rolls, teabags, milk and biscuits more than once. Also the door handle fell off and had to be replaced. The wifi was poor. The food was very good. The swimming pool was very good. The staff were polite and helpful.

Very Comfortable Sports Hotel
Very comfortable stay. A nice garden room comprising bedroom, bathroom and a small living room, which we found pleasantly unusual. The only negative factor was it was a little noisy at times because of other tenants, especially with children and dogs, and staff passing by our front door. Also a little noise from the car park. This hotel has a golf course, tennis courts and swimming pool. Ideal for sports minded people.

Well, I'm not sure where to begin. First, the room was not soundproof; there was constant noise from outside, whether it was from the plumbing work being done in the hotel or the nearby room doors sound. I literally heard each word from next door couple fighting. The room was spacious, but the furnishings was extremely old and cheap. The tea kettle looked so cheap that you could buy it from Asda for £10, and the television was 14 inches which was too small. There wasn’t any full size mirror in the room. We spent £130 each night for three days and I personally believe it was overpriced given the facilities. Also, one night at midnight, the night manager came into my room when we were sleeping as per them he thought the room was empty and came for some plumbering work. I couldn't sleep the entire night because of this. And plummeting reminded me that on our first day, the shower was broken, but they fixed it when we reported. The next night manager arrived in our room at approximately midnight And on the third day, while we were at the restaurant, my boyfriend specifically requested that there be no cheese in his burger, but they still added cheese, and when he asked to alter it, they didn't even acknowledge whether they would get another burger or not. After 20 mins one of the staff came and said we are making new burger for you if you want. I mean what kind of service this was. Well on my experience this place is overpriced, old and cheap for this price and staff need to lea

The superior garden quadrangle garden was shared by about 9 ground floor rooms and was well maintained. The exterior lighting was in situ, but at night did not appear to be working which made entry to the room difficult. I had to use the light from my mobile ro see whatcI was doing. Unlocking the sliding patio doors was also difficult, especially hard if you were suffering from arthritis I would think. Room 239 was very clean and tidy. The wardrobe could have done with a shelf in it. The shower and toilet was kept very clean. The walk in shower was roomy with hot plentiful water which was always available. The shower could have done with a shelf to hang your shower gel and shampoo on. The bulb in the shower was broken. Reception were advised. It looked like the toilet had been replaced recently. It had not been masticed in on top or at the base, making it look tatty, and a delivery sticker was still also attached. One of the bedside drawers had a broken liner in it made from formica whichbwas sharp tobthe touch and should be replaced. The above were only minor details but should be addressed as this was a superior room. I would still give the room 8.5 out of 10. Housekeeping was of a high standard. Breakfast and an evening meal were had in the restaurant the and were of a good standard and very tasty and reasonably priced. I was not allowed to sit where I wanted to for breakfast as I was told it had already been set for lunch!!

Ok stay, good location, but needs work
Comfortable room and bed, superior family had separate bedroom.Handy and picturesque location. Most staff good. Food ok but overpriced. Lack of ambience in restaurant. Pool ok. Hole in 1 sports bar good, great staff and food ok lower price than restaurant. Poor sleep due to noise from outside door, nothing soundproof, room on a landing many people noisily passing from 545am. Hotel in need of update and maintenance, many areas in poor state needing repair and paint. TV in bar area had a random BBC3 programme on with extremely inappropriate content had to ask to turn off. Overall price paid too high for standard.

Great Hotel
It was only an overnight stay with some friends - but we loved the hotel, the staff and the setting. Our room was small but nicely furnished and the bathroom was new and spotlessly clean. The restaurant was fabulous and the evening meal and breakfast was first class. Would definitely go back

Some patronising staff members on the Sunday morning enraged me. Poor management on the manual lift despite many elderly people. Food not that great and a bit expensive. I had been very eager to go there but only for bargain reasons would I go again.

We do have signs asking all guests that use the lift to make sure that they close the doors, and if reported to reception we will always go and get the lift for anyone. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Lovely traditional hotel. Would benefit from new to remotes as couldn’t use properly due to markings no longer legible! TV small but fine for us. Food was absolutely brilliant we loved choice, quality and taste. Would stay again if in that area.
