“Great weekend break location if you have a car”
We enjoyed our stay at Park Farm Hotel for a weekend trip to Norwich. It is outside the ring road in a rural locations so you really need a car to get about. The hotel was a very good independent 4*,with an nice gym, swimming pool and gardens. The room was excellent, with a comfortable bed and spacious modern en suite. It is a popular wedding venue at weekends. While the bar and restaurant still operate well, you can feel a bit like a Wedding Crasher if you hang around the public rooms. However, everyone is very friendly and the noise is not intrusive downstairs. It didn't bother us at all. We didn't hear anything at all in the room. In summary we give the Park Farm Hotel a very strong recommendation.
“really good hotel with excellent service”
I might be biased because we got upgraded to the honeymoon suite. However, we had a great stay and everything was excellent.
“Not that impressed”
They showed us to a room that had less facilities than we had paid for. The cooked buffet breakfast was poor and they ran out of various things each day and you had to hang around until they cooked some more eggs, bacon and sausages. Drinks in the bar were very expensive
“Wonderful in every way!”
This was the nicest place I have ever stayed! Every aspect of our visit was superb....the staff, the room, the food. The site was beautifully landscaped, as well. I was delightfully surprised to find a hotel of this quality in a "country " location. Bed was great, and the pillows! I cannot say enough about the beauty and atmosphere.....a true jewel.....would go back in a heartbeat.
“Lovely stay”
Lovely hotel. Beautiful setting. Great food. The only drawback was staff talking loudly in ther hallways and walking into my room despite a 'do not disturb' sign.
“Lotus GT4”
Excellent location, ample parking, excellent facililties and a very nicely appointed room. Shower AND bath en suite was impressive. Bar staff excellent and generally the whole place just worked extremely well. Free water etc in the room a nice touch. Only gripe is I couldn't "find" the WiFi?
“OK hotel, food best avoided.”
I've been staying at the Park Hotel quite a bit recently and while it is a decent enough hotel (although I'd take their 4 stars to task - 3.5 maybe), the simple fact that the food is distinctly below par makes me wary of staying there again. After the first time I was prepared to give them a break, after all everyone has off days. but I've dined there four times in the last two months and each time have been extremely disappointed. Why? Well, a Caesar salad where they substituted the anchovies with...sardines?! A jalfrezi that tasted like a tin of chopped tomatoes with some chilli powder?! Even when I opted for a dish that I thought couldn't be mucked up, scampi, it arrived with underdone chips and overdone scampi. I'm not expecting Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen, but a hotel with pretensions such as the Park Farm shouldn't be serving food like this. Other than that the hotel is clean and reasonably well appointed. The generally young staff are friendly and helpful enough but often their inexperience shows through. I may well stay here again as it is convenient for me, but will probably opt to dine out in future.
“Reasonable country hotel”
Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The hotel was quiet and while the bar meal service was good, the food itself left a lot to be desired. Checkout was efficient. Didn't use any of the leisure facilities on this trip.
“Great hotel with great facilities”
Stayed when UK in middle appalling weather coniditions, snow, ice, freezing fog etc. Hotel welcoming and very warm - loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom and from what we could see the grounds would be lovely to sit out in once the weather warms up. For the price we paid this was extremely good value and the bedroom was enormous even though we had a standard room.
“Very Highly Recommended”
Standard room was more spacious than expected. Bed very confortable.
