“Good value-for-money and no surprises”

This is a very good choice for the money and the location is excellent. I would stay there again. It's not the Four Seasons but the price isn't a Four Seasons price. The WiFi was dodgy, however, and a real pain to use. That's something they really need to work on.

“short tripti Lille”

Had a couple of days in this hotel in July 2010. Hotel is in an ideal location, I feel, as it is quieter than those on the square/busy roads yet 5 or 10 minutes walk to all major sights. We walked with rolling cases from Eurolille station - it takes about 15-20 minutes and was no big problem to u, but some might prefer a taxi. Rooms are modern, possibly bland (depends on how you value quirkiness) and spotlessly clean. Good buffet breakfast for a continental hotel. Due to good weather we took breakfast in the open courtyard. One of the best city centre hotels we have stayed in (including Hiltons, etc.) and a good price.

Must see

Lille has enough to see for a couple of days. We actually thought it was nicer than we had expected. Would recommend the piscine museum (art museum in an old public swimming pool building) - it's 25 minutes on the metro but a great building/photo opportunity.

“Excellent hotel”

We had a nice stay at this hotel: staff were friendly and helpful. The supplies of tea , milk and sugar were minimal in the room but that seems to be the norm everywhere. However, the staff were more than happy to supply more when asked. When checking out they tried to charge extra for breakfasts but we had paid that up front with the booking. They said they didn't know anything about that but I was able to produce a copy of the emailed confirmation and they accepted that as proof. The hotel was excellent value for money and with the great service I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

The area of this hotel was fine for sightseeing and shopping.

“Close to everything, comfortable and clean.”

This hotel is very, very convenient for visitng Lille. It is very close to the Grand Place (3 mins walk) and to the old street of Lille with all the lovely shops and resturants (4 mins). The room was clean and comfortable, and had a mini bar, and free safe. The hotel staff also gave us free tickets for the big wheel that sits on the main square.

Area recommendations

Go to Rue La Gand - fantastic selection to resturants and bars - off the beaten track a bit so less tourist and more local people, always a good sign of the quality of the food.

Other

Brussels is only 30mins on the train, however book in advance to get the cheapest train tickets, we paid 50Euro on the day, each!

“Good hotel for the price and the location was excellent”

“Une chambre sinistre !”

En déplacement professionnel, je suis arrivée tard à l'hôtel ; après un repas très médiocre, j'ai regagné ma chambre et là mon moral en a pris un coup ! Ma chambre était visiblement faite pour un handicapé : salle de douche uniquement et pas de baignoire ; siège en plastique pour se doucher assis ; évacuation de l'eau par le plancher ... le tout dans un état de propreté approximative ! Mauvais repas, soirée triste ... je suis repartie rapidement le matin et avec grand plaisir !
