“A good base to explore from”

I've stayed at the Ibis at Boulogne and this hotel is much the same. Centrally located and clean with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast costs around 8 euros but is well worth it. The rooms are cosy but clean and well maintained. My only complaint would be the heat of the room on the first night - with the windows open you hear all the traffic outside but bring ear plugs and you'll be fine! I'd definately use this hotel again.

Area recommendations
Centre Ville has lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Malo de Bain is the beach/promenade area which has lots of restaurants and a lovely beach - but thats it! Very close to the A16 motorway and its really easy to drive to Bruges in Belgium from here. Only 45 minutes and so easy to find. Really recommend it if you have time as it is beautiful. Hypermarkets close by but we used the bigger ones in Calais (20 min drive).
