“Thought location was excellent”
Liked the hotel, was well situated only 5 min from getting off at eurostar, so not so far for my mum whos 82. staff were really nice hotel was clean. breakfast was good. We stayed at front of hotel, was noisy if you left window open, woud go back to this hotel again
“good clean central hotel”
The hotel was very easy to find from the Eurostar train station and easily walked to (8-10min) dragging a fairly large case. Hotel was clean, with friendly staff, who at night double check your identity before handing back room keys (very thorough-very much appreciated) The room was lovely and nice sunny yellow but the curtains didn't close fully which meant lights from outside shone through the gaps. The bathroom was nicely decorated and clean however the shower was a bit inconvenient. It was non hieght adjustable and the temperature was difficult to get set right, either too hot ot too cold (at one point the adjuster came off in my hand!) the height was perfect for my partner at 5'10" but for me at 5'4" it was uncomfortable. The room could have also done with an extra hook to put your towel on closer to shower. The only other this was the bed, it was a comfy mattress with decent covers but there were only three very flat pillows which caused a fight over the spare one to make a decent nights sleep. Other than that the stay was really good. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast so unable to comment on it, although had a peek in the breakfast room and it looked as clean as the room. It only took minutes to get to the town centre and all the restaurants/bars. There is a shopping centre across the road and there are some decent clothes / sports shops in it.
“memorable trip”
The reception staff were extreemly helpful & polite. They all spoke English which was a great help to us as our French is almost non existant. If we ever go back to Lille we would stay at this hotel for its convenient location.
“Hotel ok, but have stayed in better in Lille for the same price”
The hotel was typical of a French Tourist Hotel, very basic with no ventilation other than the windows on a very hot weekend. Whilst other hotels in Lille are starting to understand that visitors would like to have a drink in their room, the Hotel Continental isn't one of them. The breakfast was adequate, generally fresh, but with very little choice compared to similarly priced hotels that I have stayed in when visiting Lille.
“Good budget break”
Basic hotel but very clean & tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location for old & new town. We had a room at the front of the hotel and once the windows were shut there was no noise at all. Did not eat at the hotel as plenty of bars/cafes nearby to explore. Bath very small - sit up only, no relaxing! Would stay again - cheap and cheerful and ideal for a budget break
Ensemble correct prestation satisfaisante. Proche de la gare et du centre. Assez bruyant du fait de la proximité de la gare. Literie correcte. Petit déjeuner très cher;
