“Very nice Hotel!”
This was a very nice hotel...very business like, though we did go midweek! Really nice decor and environment. Hotel room itself was spacious, although the bed was uncomfortable. We ate in the restaurant, which provided excellent service, although a little on the pricey side and not many options for a young child. Overall, we had an extremely enjoyable time. I would return to this hotel and recommend to family and friends!
“we loved Lille”
well located hotel, easy to walk to from euro star station.staff very friendly and helpful.glass covered court yard makes a beautiful restaurant/seated area.will definately stay at this hotel again.
“Lille's Gem”
This hotel is an excellent place to stay in Lille if you want that little touch of luxury at a reasonable price. It is convenient to all Lille's attractions. Car Parking is good, although there only appears to be one disabled space, and it could get crowded as the Hotel allows non-residents to use its pay and display facility when visiting for food etc. at their excellent restaurant. Breakfasts are of a very high standard, including a cooked option of scrambled egg, sausage and bacon. The rooms are very well appointed and quiet, although they could probably be improved with air-conditioning during very warm weather!. The Cloister area, where the restaurant and bar are on the ground floor, is spectacular. The staff are very willing and helpful (remember, it is always nice, and polite, to TRY and speak a little French even though we may sound like Officer Crabtree from 'ello 'ello to them !!!).
“Lovely hotel”
An absolutely beautiful renovation of an old convent. Although the rooms were their last priority for updating, they were clean and spacious. The restaurant was had some of the best food around. The lounge was also a beautiful setting. The location was a short walk from the center of town but a great spot for walking and bike riding in the Citadel area. We found the service to be slightly intolerant of being non-French speakers but would, all in all, highly recommend the hotel.
“Perfect location”
The hotel is perfectly located being within walking distance of both the Eurostar terminal and the centre of Lille. Whilst having a corporate feel, it is in immaculate condition with good-sized rooms and a fantastic breakfast.
“Avoid!”
while 'on-line' it looks very modern & nice, that extends only as far as the bar & restaurant. My room on the 4th floor was small, dirty & last decorated in the early 80's.
“Consistently good”
Have stayed at the Couvent des Minimes on ten or more occasions over the last few years and the hotel never fails to please. Rooms are comfortable, service is friendly and efficient and breakfast buffet is excellent. Thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay within five minutes walk of Lille's old town and major shops.
“Good service, great breakfast, interesting building restoration”
This hotel is a little out of the way, but since we arrived in the middle of the Braderie (the annual flea-market), we were very pleased with this pick. The restoration of the old convent building makes this an interesting place to stay, and the breakfast buffet was first-class. The friendliness and service from the staff was also top-notch. Internet charges are a bit steep. It is about a 15 minute cab ride from Lille Europe station or a long slog through the pedestrian areas of town.
“Perfect for a chilled break”
Lovely hotel just a few minutes walk from town centre. In a lovely quiet part of town. Didn't eat in restaurant but menu looked good if a little expensive. Coffee and cognac in bar after night out in Lille were expensive but the bar has a great laid back feel so worth the cost. Would stay again, was impressed with both hotel and Lille.
“Unfulfilled promise”
Beautiful building let down by tiny twin room: shabby, tired, 1980's chain style, dark with glaring lights, no ventilation except for noisy air conditioner, no clothes space - wife had to hang dress in bathroom and keep clothes in suitcase, I stuffed mine on top of safe. Even at Expedia rate, not worthy of 4-star hotel.
