“Excellent Hotel”
Very well located, adjacent to the old town - hardly a ten minute stroll away. Easy access to the 98 airport bus - within five minutes. Extremely welcoming and helpful reception staff. Room far nicer than I had expected for the price I paid to Expedia. Overall one to go back to, so I would certainly recommend it highly

The hotel was in a great spot for most of Nice's attractions,it was clean and comfortable although I didn't think it deserved a 4* rating, more a 2*

“Small Rooms”
On check-in we were given our keys only to find the bedroom was really small - the smallest hotel room that i think i have ever seen - it actually looked like old staff accomodation. i was disappointed however my daughter went back to reception and asked for another room and we were delighted to be given a far superior bigger room immediately. Why the first room was offered i have no idea and it didnt give a good first impression however the staff were very helpful and i was happy with the second room.
“Good Location”
While I cannot agree this to be a 4* it was very convenient ot Old Town, which is where I needed to be. The bed was actually very comfortable, but the room in general was extremely modest, but clean.
“Could be great”
Great location and good hotel receptionists who provide excellent advice on good restaurants. The Traditional rooms we stayed in are desperately needing a refurbishment and once these are completed this will be a really good hotel. The quality of breakfast was a little disappointing (scrambled eggs severly overcooked) and coffee not freshly prepared. I also have come to like the 'boil your own egg' facilities that other hotels I have stayed in Nice have had, but not the Massena. Also for a 4* hotel, a pencil was provided in the bedroom whereas a pen should be standard - only a small point but it is supposed to be a 4* establishment.

A very clean hotel with friendly staff. However, the tradition room we stayed in was just too small.
“Great location, too pricy... four star foyer and bar but 3 star rooms...”
This is in a great location but room decor is very dated and in need of renovation. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hoUsekeeping service was excellent. There was a lot of sound transfer between rooms which is not ideal.. I didn't need to hear people running a bath in the adjacent room... The room was tiny and we paid a four star price..... comparing this to uk hotels, it would be 2-3 star... but maybe standards here are higher... We stayed here for 3 nights on our second visit to Nice and as I say, location is excellent.
“Not 4 Star”
Maybe some rooms were big, but ours was small, not enough space to unpack and a very small bathroom with a shower I doubt a larger person would get into. Bar closed at 11pm & breakfast room was bar - not very inviting. A 2/3 star masquerading as 4. one good thing was it's position although rooms on the East side suffered from late night noise. Stayed in much better hotels.
“Nice 2011”
1. Hotel Room very small and well used. 2. Cleanliness good, new towels and sheets every day 3. Room furniture well aged 4. Air con not working 5. Staff very courteous 6. Considering breakfast was included in the price, if you accept the above then good value for what we paid.
