“Exceeded our expectations”

We stayed 5 nights at the Cantermerle in June. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The grounds and outdoor heated pool were especially nice. It was always pleasant returning to the hotel for a rest on a chaise by the pool after a day's worth of activities -- quiet and serene.

We had a charming double room with a balcony. The bathroom was spacious with nice fixtures and a great shower. The hotel is small and has a garden like atmosphere. The outdoor pool is unheated and there is a small indoor pool...warmer but not really warm. They had a nice hamam with a menthol aroma which was very enjoyable. The gym was disappointing. Of course, maybe I am the only one who goes to the gym on a weekend away. The Staff here is excellent, very attentive and tuned in. The hotel is walking distance to the old city of Vence. It is a drive to St. Paul-de-Vence. I would definitely stay here again. It is not the George V but neither is the price. You can park for free if you have a car. Internet is also free ( a must for me, since I hate to be nickeled and dimed with hidden costs) but you have to use a different pass codes if you have more than one device. Good value for the money. The restaurant had some hits and misses but overall good. Once again, the staff made for an overall enjoyable evening.
