Great Value - smelly drains.
Great value for $$$ in convenient place to tram and airport and there's a cheap Lidl nearby. Renovated room and nice eating area and terrace. The only neg is the sewage drain smells up the room. Keep door of washroom closed after airing the room out. Elevators sort of tiny too but no biggy. Would recommend.

I arrived 2 hours before check in started hoping I could just leave my luggage, but they were able to give me a room which was nice, but when I got into the room, it still hasn't been cleaned from the last guests, the towels were on the ground, the bed was slept in, and the garbage was full. They did give me a new room after I brought this to their attention but when I went to sleep I noticed a small bloodstain on the sheets. Overall it was ok for the price I paid

great hotel but there is a huge ant problem
Great hotel. wonderful location. beautiful room. Only problem for me was it was infested with ants. they covered the wall and made a line on the floor you can't have any food or snacks in the room. they will cover it and crawl on your face at night. otherwise great

Close to train and tram.
Friendly staff, room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Close to the train station and all of the city shops etc. A nice walk to the beach or the tram is also close.

It’s such a great place Nice location but my room was infested with ants like covering the floor walls garbage etc they gave me one ant trap that did nothing I kept asking for spray but they refused to buy any At night they crawled on my face and arms I cannot wait to not be there in the ant infested room

Disappointed that I paid for a double room and I got two singles beds pushed together. Very uncomfortable. Some of the power sockets didn’t work, not fixed properly to wall. The card slot to power the room was dodgy, had to put card in/out a few times to get it to work, sometimes it would just come off the wall. Unfriendly staff.

Hotel is after renovation which is good- the rooms are new & nice! Staff is amazing & friendly, very helpful! There are some small bits missing - like water on arrival in the room, milk powder for a coffee etc but overall- it’s renovated nice hotel in a super location!

Supposed to be a 4 star hotel, no amenities, soap pump doesn’t work and no water an kettle in the room. The good thing was the location as well as the renovated room design.

I have always liked the hotel, but it is not fit to receive guests at the moment, because it’s undergoing a major refurbishment. Expedia should not have booked me into it, since most of the time it was unstaffed and therefore unsafe, and the facilities were quite inadequate. Also, I have had to pay TWICE - I have a receipt for the 200€ in cash which was taken from me when I arrived, in exchange for finding me a room which was barely habitable. Of course I expect a full refund. Please confirm your receipt of this message immediately.

The highest floor has no lift and lights are not working, hence please do not accept or book the room if you cannot climb or will be there with heavy luggage. Lift is only good for 2 person. Requested to change room but was rejected despite having available rooms on lower levels. You need a good torch light for your stay

Great location 100 meters from the tramway line and two blocks from the tram station that takes you directly to the airport. Wifi was a bit iffy. Good value for the price

Good location though not overlooking the sea. Just next to Jean Medecin main street and walking distance from train station Nice Ville. Humble hotel, yet very friendly staff and clean rooms.

I was not expecting much from this hotel, but was not expecting it to be as bad as it was. One front desk staff made us uncomfortable - leered at us most of the time. I think we got a 1/2 smile from another one. Everyone else kept their heads down when we walked by. My reservation was for a king and 1 twin. We got 3 twins. Shower leaked. Carpets were horribly worn. Room was so small with no character. It was actually depressing coming home each evening to this hotel. I almost changed the hotel a few weeks before our trip because I started reading other reviews, but my kids told me not to bother. I wish I had changed and paid a little more for a more comfortable environment. It unfortunately put a damper on our time in Nice. Another thing - one nite I was sitting in bed reading and saw a bug on my covers. I flipped out. My kids and I tore apart all the bedding, sheets and flipped over the mattresses. We were googling bed bugs and comparing pictures to the bug on my bed. We felt that it wasn't a bed bug, but it was creepy sleeping there after that. We did not make any complaints to management since some of them scared us. Lesson learned - pay attention to reviews and spend a little more for peace of mind. (This hotel could have potential if owners were willing to put some money into updating flooring and making the rooms more inviting.)

Well located hotel
I feel very mixed about this hotel. We stay in Nice for a week every year, we always pick a lower price hotel to make the holiday affordable so never have high expectations, we just want somewhere comfy & clean to stay. Hotel St George was exceptionally clean and our room was cleaned and bed made every single day. The air con worked perfect which was a god send as we were there during a heatwave. My complaints would be that the room did not have tea/coffee making facilities (which we usually find even budget rooms have), the king size bed stated in the booking turned out to be a double bed and although very comfortable was a bit cramped when your other half is 6 foot 4! The biggest let down was walking through a beautiful foyer on arrival which has obviously had good money spent on it, then going up in the lift to our floor and the lift door opening onto a very dark and dingy corridor and our room also being very dark and looking like it had not been decorated since the 70’s. The room was fairly small and the oppressive orangey/brown walls just made it feel even smaller. If the upstairs floors were decorated as brightly as the ground floor then I would say this hotel is an absolute must and in such a great location. However, in its current state of decoration I would probably not return

Basically a good stay. It was in a modest and safe part of town very accessible to public transit (tram, motor-bus, etc.). I got to take in the old part of town and visit several surrouding towns.

The only problem was the WIFI but on a business trip WIFI is essential .Otherwise the rooms are basic, rather small - even smaller than Ibis which is hard to accomplish but just as clean and functional.
