“More than satisfied”
We really enjoyed our 10-night stay in this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It's in a great location within walking distance of the main attractions, shops, restaurants, the Promenade des Anglais and the railway and bus stations. Our double room was small, but quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
“Pleasant stay”
This is a simple, but comfortable hotel. The location is very good, walking distance to the train stration. The service is awesome. They have a very good breakfast. The room is quite simple and small, but enough for my needs.
“Great base in Nice”
I stayed at the Boreal Hotel when I ran the Nice- Cannes Marathon. The hotel is in a great location, lots of cafe's and shops nearby. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. On the morning of the marathon they opened breakfast at 05:30 for the runners who were staying in the hotel. There are certainly better hotels in Nice but they will cost you more, for what we paid I think the Hotel Boreal was outstanding. The hotel breakfast was good value 9 euro's, which you will pay that for a pastry and coffee anywhere in Nice. As always you get what you pay for and the Hotel Boreal gave us real value for money.
“Will use this hotel in future travel.”
Good location to central station and metro. Restaurants near the hotel area. Staff are very helpfull.
“Great location and very friendly staff”
The hotel room was basic but comfortable and clean. No tea/coffee making facilities and we were a bit cramped in a small twin bed room. However staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate. The big plus is the price considering the hotel's brilliant location. very near the station so its easy to get to the hotel and good for bus transfer to the airport. its in a no through road and right in the centre of the town with a tram station 2 minutes away. For a short break this is a great option
“good value for Nice”
This hotel is locate in the heart of nice it is deciving how big it is .We got good value for money as we stayed over 3 days and got 20% discount with a good breakfast . Rooms were small but very clean but a bit old fashioned. Hotel staff very frendly and knolagble on Nice We had a very enjoyable Stay .Our only small complaints would be our part of the hotel did not have a lift and we were on the second floor, the bath was a typical small bath with the shower at low level so you had to sit down to shower. That aside we would go back to this hotel,
“Expected something better”
Although the neighborhood and overall location of the hotel were very good, the hotel itself was quite shabby, especially the hallways. The carpeting was frayed and the hallways themselves smelled stale and unpleasant (we stayed in 2 different rooms as we broke up our stay in Nice so were able to experience different locations). It may be my mistake in not reading the hotel details carefully enough before bookin, but I was not happily surprised to find no internet service available or any mini-fridge in the rooms. The latter was important to me since I travel with medicine that needs to be refrigerated and it was a bother to ask the staff to put my meds in and take them out when I needed to. I would also have appreciated better lighting, especially next to the beds as I needed a lantern to see the pages of my book when trying to read in bed. No complaints at all about the staff who were extremely nice and helpful and who made good suggestions. The buffet breakfast was quite nice and lacked for nothing. Note to the Hotel Boreal: if you'd spend some money renovating and modernizing the premises, I'd be able to give you a five star rating.
“Great value hotel in near central location”
Found rooms very clean, practical, basic for decor but absolutely fine and met what we paid for. All 4 rooms in party had double and single beds. Really helpful staff. Location very near tram and central square, restaurants etc, 2 local bars unfriendly, so just go round the corner.
“Great location, but few thrills...”
For the price, I would recommend Hotel Boreal. The location was great - 5 minute walk to the old town, train depot, and the beach. The staff was especially helpful advising us how to catch the bus (to the museums) and trains (to Monaco). The room was quite small - though to be expected in EU, but clean. Biggest disappointment was no elevator to our room on the 3rd floor! A nice workout with our luggage up the winding staircase!! Overall it was OK, though next time we might spend more to stay somewhere a little more extravagant.
“nice hotel”
There was some room noise transferance. The beds were not overly comfortable. The staff nmade up for any shortcomings though.
