“Great Location in Nice, France”

This is a charming little hotel one block off the Promenade Anglais in a very central location. It is within easy walking to the flower market and many charming restaurants. We opted for a junior suite and it was really large and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. We walked to the Marc Chagall Museum from the hotel. It took about a half hour and it was easy to find. I would definitely stay there again. We were in Nice prior to a cruise on Seabourn Legend. It's a wonderful city with a lot of wonderful things to investigate and of course being on the Mediterranean doesn't hurt any.

“Fantastic Location”

This hotel sits near the end of the promenade right at the edge of the old town. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the Cours Saleya (flower market) where you will find an abundance of cafes to go for breakfast. The Open Top Bus Tour also starts nearby and you are only a few mintutes away from a tram stop. The square at Place Massena and the old town are all lively in the eveings and only a short walk back to the hotel. The hotel room (standard twin) was small but comfortable although the air conditioning could have been better. The hanging space in the wardrobe was minimal and your suitcases just had to lie on the floor leaving you little space. But overall a nice room, well decorated and clean. Too have a drink in the Hotel's beach cafe you need to cross the road/promenade. When arriving at the airport catch a No 98 bus and the bus actuallu stops at Beau Rivage (although on the promenade side) giving you a two minute walk to the hotel. If I return to Nice I would definately return to this hotel for the location alone.

Dining
Old town - La Ville, 14 Rue de l'Abbaye provided a lovely meal. Just off the main thoroughfare in the middle of the old town. A good variety of dishes with generous portions. Their starter of baked camembert with pear was large enough to share. Their steaks cooked to prefection. La Zucca Magica is down by the port. This is the most fantastic vegetarian restaurant but you don't need to be vegetarian to enjoy it. No menu, 5 courses and the most wonderfully flavoured food you are likely to eat. Well worth a visit. Finally you absolutely must try to visit Oliverias in the Old Town. A small restaurant which is also an olive oil shop. The owner is incredibly enthusiastic about olive oil and each dish is prepared to showcase his favourite oils. You probably need to book in advance (just pop in during the day) and don't go if you are in a hurry. Each dish is worth waiting for and it was a sublime eating experience.

“The highlight was checking out.”

Of the dozens of hotels I've stayed in, this is the first time I've felt compelled to submit a negative review. I would rather stay on a park bench than go back here. It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, period. The location was good but that does not make up for the fact that the service, cleanliness, value for money, differentiation between standard and superior rooms, amenities and the exclusion of amenities which we were told would be included in our "superior room" was nothing short of appalling. Stay elsewhere.

“Would definitely go back again”

A somewhat botique entry, clean, with a friendly and helpful staff. Located in the heart of the tourist district but in a quiet block of the main street. Walking distance to street cars, train station, buses and main attractions. A block from the beach. Location couldn't be better.

“Great value”

After spending an earlier night in one of the best Hotels in Nice this was we felt was even better and great value for money. Rooms were more than adequite, if not a little worn and need of a spruce up. Great location once you found it, one block back from the beach and quiet. Staff were fantastic when we arrived, arranging a temp park and speedy check in and out and showing us around the room, again something that didn't happen at an earlier 5 start Hotel. Overall great Hotel and location if visiting Nice.

“Will not return to this hotel.”

The room that we were originally provided was in poor condition (front door latch came off the handle, the tv cable not working properly, and the air conditioner was not working at all. The room's floors were dirty and the bathroom really smelled. We were eventually given a different room, but we had to endure a hot and really noisy night because we had to leave our windows open all night long (we barely got any sleep). The new room was quiet, but the tv cable did not work at all and the floors were dirty. In addition, the front desk staff were not attentive at all (with an exception to a couple who genuinely tried to help). The hotel cleaning staff also opened the door to our room practically every day without knocking! Totally awkward. Oh, don't ask for a wakeup call because you will not get one (ok, to be fair... the staff did call us once, but was 35 mins. late).

Area recommendations
The beach, but be prepared to pay to get a spot to relax and lay out.

“Beau Rivage - Nice 2011”

The hotel was very conveniently located - everything was within a block or two walking.....Old Nice, Promenade Anglais, Messena place.....the tram to the train station. However, it was noisy.....the area leading up to and including Old Nice had night life that went on into the wee hours......then early morning, the daily garbage pickup began at 5:30am. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay.

“Great location for party animals”

Small (superior?) room, but service was very good and it's in a great location right in the middle of Nice and its restaurants and nightlife. But it's right on the street and is noisiest location I've ever stayed in (it was Sat night though)

“Great Beach Bar and Restaurant”

The Beach Bar and Restaurant was fabulous, the food was the nicest we had eaten in Nice and the staff were friendly and courteous. The main problem was that it closed early! No access after 4pm, though this may change further on in the season. The sea facing rooms were unavailable as I think they were under refurbishment, which was a shame but not a problem, the location was excellent.
