“A very good base at a good price”

Staff were really helpful and pleasant. Room rate was very reasonable. Excellent location. Would use this hotel when I return to Nice.

“A little bit too far”

Even though it was abit off track , it was a nice, clean hotel . The problem was if you did not want to eat dinner at the hotel, there was nothing open to get a bite.

“Decent choice”

I have stayed for 2 days to spend romantic vacations with my wife and the hotel provides a great satisfaction to my wife which made me happy. The staffs in the hotel were very friendly. One drawback to this hotel is that there is no parking garage. If you do not have a car traveling with, it would be a great stay.

“Hotel Alba-Nice, France---Good Value/Good Choice/Good Location”

When we got to our room, everything was in order. Overall, everything worked as it should, no problems. Air conditioning worked well, there was LAN access (wi-fi, although present, wasn't the best). The shower/bathtub was a problematic. Because it's a combo tub and shower, the 'shower' portion is to the back, but the plastic 'shield' designed to keep the water in isn't long enough and so almost always, you will get water spray onto the floor (which makes it wet). The bed was fine, although not the best mattress. Other than that, no other issues. I would stay here again. The price was competitive, and the location was EXCELLENT. 7 min walk from Train station, 2 min walk to tram, and right on the main strip. Shopping across the street, with a QUICK burger/fast-food right next door. Good stay.

Area near Train station is a bit seedy, but is convenient.

“Would recommend to anyone visiting Nice”

The hotel was very good, clean, tidy and the staff were attentive. We had complementary tea/coffee which was most welcome. On the third day there was a fire alarm and when I arrived in reception in my pjs the "receptionist"looked at me as if I was mad!!!!! We went back to bed after checking the information in the room to confirm that breakfast was served until 11 am. We arrived down for breakfast at 10:30 but were turned away by the "receptionist" The information will need to updated. One of the rooms we occupied had a faulty key which meant going down 4 floors on a number of occasions to reception to have it swiped. This became tedious for a 78 year old lady. Havin said all that I would definately recommend this hotel for cleanliness, location, comfort and convenience.

Area recommendations

Most definatley I would recommend the old town. There was a fantastic atmosphere there for both young and old. Restaurants were lovely and well priced for tourists.

“Perfectly located hotel”

We had a very good experience. The Alba hotel was very central and excellent value for money and perfect for a short stay. We did not have much interaction with the hotel staff but they were always willing to help.

“I would definitely come back.”

Great location on the center street, ten minute walk down to the beach. Room was awesome. Same could be said for the staff - helpful and pleasant. Parking was a bit expensive, but nice and secure inside a garage.

When to go

Be sure to plan on being there on 14th of July, on French republic day, when they display a beautiful fireworks.

“Great room!”

This was a great hotel! Our room was HUGE! High ceilings, a huge window, separate entry with the bathroom, and plenty of closet space. The hotel was very clean. There isn't much in terms of extras (no pool, bar, or restaurant). It's about a 20 min walk to the beach. The hotel is located on a main street in Nice within walking distance to a supermarket, stores, resturants, and the train station. We got a great deal on expedia and were very happy with our stay.

“Didn't fix a known hot water problem”

Can't say too much on the hotel as it was more of a pit stop on our way from Spain to Italy. The neighborhood looked nice and it was just off a fairly busy strip. However it wasn't that close to where the action is on the Promenade Anglaise. Also when we got to the hotel in the evening, there was no hot water. They failed to fix the problem overnight so the following morning we still couldn't have a hot shower even though the hotel staff knew of this problem the previous evening. I was very disappointed in my stay there, and couldn't believe that this type of service was coming from a hotel with the Best Western name on it. It definitely made me think less of what that brand actually means.
