"Relaxing and friendly hotel"
I loved this hotel. My room which I had booked as a single, was a twin room with the most stunning view over the sea. It was a very cold day yet my room was like a hot house - fantastic! As for the staff, they were so helpful, nothing was too much for them. The receptionists were wonderful, warm, friendly and welcoming. Honestly, I cannot rate it high enough. Oh yes, had dinner in the restaurant, very tasty!

"The best place to stay in Newquay"
I booked this hotel as I read earlier reviews and no one gave it less than 5/5 stars. After staying in this hotel I fully agree with them! We arrived on Friday to be told that we had been upgraded as the hotel wasn't busy that weekend. The room and bathroom was lovely and clean, and the view on the balcony overlooking the sea was spectacular. Breakfast was also delicious, and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. I will be staying in this hotel again! Can't recommend this hotel enough.

"Another great stay at Pentire Hotel in Newquay"
Once again, another fanastic stay at Pentire Hotel. We stayed at Pentire a few years ago as part of our three week holiday at the time in the UK and knew even then that we would be returning to stay again. The atmosphere there is so welcoming, just like going home. Good value and very comfortable in all aspects of the hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful and so willing to help whenever they can.The Pentire Hotel staff were the best we encountered over a four week holiday staying in various locations and various hotels all over the UK. The staff were not just friendly but would take a genuine interest in our daily travel plans with advice and tips which all added to the pleasure of each day we were there. We enjoyed a good hearty breakfast each morning which really gave us a good start to each day. On our return to the hotel each day, we enjoyed a relaxing drink in the very cosy hotel bar and dinner was always available to book for each night if required to enjoy and relax at the end of our busy days. Great place, great service, great people, great location.

"Friendly, close to beach and excellent breakfasts!"
We stayed at Porth Lodge this summer on a last minute trip to Cornwall, we hadn't visited before but thought that a hotel close to but a bit removed from Newquay would be a great base to start from. We didn't expect Porth beach itself to be such a beautiful spot, or for the hotel to be such a find! Our room was great, not huge but it had space to move around and everything we needed. The walls weren't the thickest but the atmosphere of the hotel is very family friendly, so a bit of background noise didn't bother us at all. There was parking where it was always easy to find a space too. As mentioned in the title, our favourite bit of the stay was their breakfasts, properly fantastic! We're vegan and they were very accommodating, meaning we still had a four course breakfast of cereal, a fruit salad with love and attention gone into it, fried english breakfast of veggie sausages, fried bread, grilled tomatoes, beans and mushrooms, along with toast and a selection of spreads. It was delicious! The staff were friendly and informative about the local area, with maps and information to hand. As mentioned, Porth beach is also a great spot with a huge sandy beach even at high tide. It's also a ten minute walk to Lusty Glaze beach, from which you can walk all along the sand to Newquay in about 40 minutes, exploring coves along the way. All in all we were thrilled with our stay and would definitely go back!

    Pocket Guide: Newquay

Whether you’re a surfer or a clubber, a sun worshipper or a stag partier, an early bird or a night owl, there are hotels in Newquay to make everyone feel at home 24/7. So if 5-star hotels are out of your price range and 4-star hotels aren’t your bag, check out the other options in Newquay hotels to suit your style and please your pocket.

Most visitors to Newquay come for the beach – after all, it’s one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in north Cornwall, with its wide rolling seas, long sandy beaches and secluded coves. Life in the surf capital of the UK revolves around the world-famous Fistral Beach, which hosts many international surfing competitions thanks to its powerful waves and good swell. One of the most prestigious is the annual Relentless Boardmasters Festival, which is held in conjunction with a music festival at nearby Watergate Bay. Book early if you want to make sure of a room in one of the town’s friendly boutique hotels during this hugely popular event.

The laid-back surfing vibe can be infectious, but if riding the wave doesn’t float your boat, why not try a spot of golf? Newquay Golf Club is one of the finest in the area, with awe-inspiring views over the Atlantic Ocean and some demanding holes, while Treloy Golf Club, designed by Bob Sandow and opened in 1991, is the first course in Cornwall to feature American-style sculptured greens to test the most experienced player.

If it’s too cold to take the plunge, pay a visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium on Towan Beach, where you can make friends with the local marine life in the underwater tunnel, get up close and personal with hundreds of tropical species in the ocean display, and watch feeding time for piranhas and sharks. If that hasn’t put you off your food, head into town to check out the wide range of delicious seafood restaurants hugging the picturesque harbour. Finish your day in time-honoured fashion by sinking into blissful comfort in one of the town’s luxury hotels, or snuggle up to your beach boy in one of the romantic hotels overlooking the ocean and dream of that perfect wave…
