“over rated”

What really got me was, the things that are typically provided with the cost of the room were all extras. The parking, internet and I even had to pay $2 for a cup of coffeee every morning....

“Looking forward to my next visit!”

Check in was quick and easy, the room was very clean. Very nice Hotel. I will be visiting the area frequently as my daughter will be going to school in the area and look forward to many more stays at this hotel....great location too!

“A great hotel”

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and I'm glad we picked this hotel. The service was great. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, and again the service at the restaurant was great. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were perfect, and the covers were soft and warm. Soaps and shampoo in the bathroom were Bath and Body Works, very good quality and good scent for both men and women. Towels were soft and thick. Nice pool facility, water could have been warmed a little in the pool though. My wife and I will most definitely book this hotel again the next time we have a little weekend getaway. Though it's close to home, it's so nice and relaxing there, it makes you feel a world away.

Area recommendations

There are a few good places right there in City Center, and Patrick Henry mall and the neighboring shopping center are right down the street. That and the interstate is very close, so it's not far to the Hampton Coliseum area. Also you're in the City Center at this hotel, so as long as there's good weather, the area's great for a walk.

Family-friendly activities

The Virginia Living Museum, Mariner's Museum and The Peninsula Fine Art's center are all within 15 minutes of the hotel. Newport News Park isn't much further in the other direction, and has a bunch of outdoor family activities.

Nightlife

Salsa's is right in City Center and the bartenders there are EXCELLENT. Definitely worth checking out.

“Downtown quality in Newport News”

Very nice quality hotel with plenty of amenities gives you the feeling that you are in a 5 star hotel. Spacious rooms and bathrooms and a confortable bed made for a relaxing stay. The comference rooms were well equipted and monitored by staff for cleanliness. My one negative - the bathroom lighting for the vanity was dimly lit.

“Would stay here again”

Great hotel, very clean, staff was helpful. I sent dry cleaning out & it came back the next day, as promised. Great location, the City Center area is really neat & it's nearby most everything you could need.
