My wife and I spent two nights here on our honeymoon - a truly romantic and special experience! The staff was so kind and thoughtful - even putting water bottles in the cup holders of our car when we picked it up from the valet! We also recommend the massages offered at the spa!

We've seen the America's Cup Inn from previous visits to Newport, and you can't beat the location, on Thames near Starbucks (for those crucial early morning caffeine runs). It's location is also it's only drawback, near Busker's, a good Irish pub, it got a bit noisy at about 11:00 to 12:30, but quieted down afterwards. The second night a large group of people dressed as Santas loudly sang "The 12 Days of Christmas" about 11:00, but that was funny. The cobblestone streets were noisy, especially if a truck went by.
Now the good points: All the staff was very pleasant and accomodating, lovely really. The afternoon tea was a nice touch, and breakfast was a big surprise. Expecting the usual continental breakfast of toast, stale pastries, and cereal, we had a selection of fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, cheese omelets, tasty pastries and a surprising selection of meet - bacon, sopprasetta, and capicola!
The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, although the toilet seat was a bit loose, you'd find yourself suddenly side saddle. Forgot to mention that. Overall though a wonderful experience, small delights and a comfy bed, and the attention of a small place vs. a chain.
For the second year in a row I have spent Christmas Eve and Christmas at the Hyatt Regency Newport while visiting family on Aquidneck Island. The hotel has been consistently clean and warmly appointed.
Right behind main street, One Pelham East. Parking included is a deal! Great kitchenette for linger-term stays. Staff was able to accommodate very early check-in. Nothing bad at all to say about this very nice stay!
