“Perfect for a seaside, family get away”

The staff was helpful and pleasant. We were able to register a little early and it only took moments so we could get out and explore the wharf shops which are so convenient. It was great to have parking and to be able to walk to everything. It can be so congested down town so this is the perfect spot. Looking out our room windows on the boats was so beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

“Where NOT t stay in Newport”

The location is fantastic and if the employees , especially the front desk staff recognized that they are part of a service industry this might be a good place to stay. The front desk staff was consistently rude and condescending. When there was a problem with entry into our room based on a faulty latch that required maintainance staff to repair, the desk staff were not at all helpful. The room was clean but the overall impression based on the lack of civility of the staff was totally negative.

Area recommendations

Newport is a great place with lots to do and many great restaurants.

“Location, Location, Location”

The hotel is situated right in the heart of Newport, all the restaurants , bars & shops are all in walking distance. The hotel was very nice and I would stay there again. I wish the bathrooms were a bit larger but it would do for a short stay.

Right in the seaport area and to visit the mansions.

Dining

We visited two very good restaurants (The Red Parrot & Sayers Wharf). A real nice bar is the Brick Alley Pub.

“A wonderful spot”

had a slight technical problem. Aircon would notswitch off. They sent a technical guy at 10:30 on a Satnight and he had to cut the power supply. Otherwise, perfect.

“Great location, not so great hotel.”

The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to shops and the wharf, but it definitely needs some renovations.

“Great location”

The hotel is in an excellent location rit next to waterfront. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was light and airy and overlooked the harbor. Breakfast was good, but limited to a buffet, although it was supposed to be a la carte. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to be close to the water.

Area recommendations

I'd recommend taking a trolley bus tour which takes in one or more of the mansions. Our guide was friendly and very informative.

“Best location in Newport”

This is the place to stay if you want to be able to walk just about anywhere! It was beautiful and to be right on the harbor was so picturesque. We walked to all the lovely restaurants and the historical part of town. The mansions were a 5 minute drive. Just a lovely place to go.

“Great location!”

This hotel is in a great location. It is close to all shops and restaurants. It is a bit on the older side, but very clean and comfortable. The rooms are on the small, but with all there is to do, you do not spend a lot of time in the room anyway. We would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations

We would recommend the Cliff Walk, a Mansion Tour, a Boat Tour and a drive along Ocean Drive :)

Nightlife

I would recommend before going to check out the nightlife. We missed an opportunity to see a great comedian because we did not know in advance.

“Great location in the heart of things.”

This was a great hotel. Very comfortable beds. Friendly hotel staff. Great Location. Nice lawn out back with adironack chairs overlooking the marina. Especially pretty site at night. Also, indoor swimming pool with outdoor deck for sun bathing. Close to all the restaurants, including their own.

Area recommendations

Mansions are a must see!! Shops are varied and fun.

“Very Disappointed”

This should not be categorized as a 4.0 star hotel. The hotel decor was very dated. The check-in was unfriendly. At 9:00 pm, I went to the outdoor bar and asked for a menu. I was told "the kitchen was closed and I could go across the street for something to eat". When I looked at the room service menu later that night, it said room service was open until 10 pm so I could not understand why I was turned away at 9. I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.
