“GOOD POSITION”
Our room was well appointed but small particularly the bathroom (15sq ft incl shower). Our room faced the main road which was noisy so if this is a problem request a room not facing the street. We did not use the hotel parking but found parking easy in a street just across the road from the hotel.
“Great Overall”
This hotel is in the perfect location in Newport. Most everything is within walking distance. A lot of charming houses and shops to see around the hotel. We were able to park on the street, walk to Starbucks right down the street for morning coffee and to many different restaurants for our meals. Staff was exceptional!
“Nice hotel but too much noise”
We just returned from 3 nights at the Viking Hotel in Newport. The Viking Hotel was nice but we had a room facing the front of the hotel. There are 2 banquet halls in the hotel and there were weddings each night of our stay. Every night from 11:00 PM to 2:00AM the wedding guests would spill out of the hotel and continue to party in the front until the valet retrieved their cars. It sounded like a Manhattan bar scene and we were constantly awakened. Wouldn't stay again
“Manor Rooms awfully small”
Manor guest rooms are incredibly small - the sinks are the size of infant babies. Comfortable beds and excellent service, though.
“great hotel”
great room super clean.huge Bed,
“can't wait to go back”
great experience! very happy!
“Loud and Overpriced”
We stayed at the hotel on a busy Saturday night-two weddings were happening (which we learned upon arrival). Our room was adjacent to a staircase that transferred the sound to our room every time each drunk stumbled back to their room. Be prepared to listen to every event that happens in the other rooms that are beside, under, and above you. Take my advice, stay elsewhere.
“beautiful rooms!”
Very beautiful old hotel. Loved the room decor and the bed was soooo comfortable. Not impressed with the lunch or breakfast ordered from the restaurant so we didn't bother with trying dinner. Did get stuck waiting for the valet for a while though...
“Very nice”
Classy place but in room coffee should be free.
“Unfortunate situation”
I've stayed at this hotel previously and had a better experience than this most recent stay. The room did not have any heat and by the time we realized it wasn't working, there was no one on staff who could fix the heater. Made for a cold night. They did offer free parking, complimentary breakfast, and a voucher for one night's stay that is good for two years. But the hotel is beautiful, the room was nice, and the location is great. They did make a great effort to make up for the heat so I would recommend it to others.
