“A fine Newport B&B”

Centrally located, friendly, cozy, clean, comfortable bed, thick towels and don't forget the absolutlely delicious breakfasts. What else can we say? Everything you want in a B&B. We stayed inthe smallest room in the inn. It was comfortable, although if we returned we would ask for one of the other rooms. The stay here made our first visit to Newport enjoyable and memorable.

Area recommendations
We enjoyed the Mansion tours, walking on Thames St, walking the Cliff Walk and we had a great dinner at Tucker's Bistro

“A great B&B!”

Great Newport location. Excellent breakfasts. Plenty of parking. No complaints at all other than that our bathroom could have been a little bigger. Of course it was still much better than the original owner's.

Area recommendations
Try the Newport Cliff Walk for the views and exercise.

“Historic and Romantic Samuel Durfee House in Newport”

The innkeepers have turned a 200-year-old house into a delightful, five-room B and B. The location was within walking distance of the main Newport attractions. The rooms were filled with period furniture and were charming. The breakfasts were excellent. The hosts were cordial and informative about local restaurants and sights. The inn was well worth the price. I recommend it for a romantic getaway or a small reunion with friends or family.

Area recommendations
The B and B is in the historic downtown area of Newport, one block from Thames Street with its bars, restaurants, and shops. It is also near the Bellevue Avenue shops and the famous Newport mansions of the Gilded Age.

“Another enjoyable stay at Samuel Durfee”

This is our 2nd visit to Samuel Durfee, and we had another great time. It's comfortable, relaxing, quaint, warm, etc. - everything you'd want from a B&B. The innkeepers, Michael & Heather, are extremely nice and helpful - and the breakfast is awesome. Its in a great location, and you are a very short walk from the main strip in Newport where all the shops and restaurant are. Likewise, its a good location to explore things like the Cliff Walk, Ocean Drive, etc. I'm sure we'll be back.

“Professionally managed by very competent owners”

Excellent location with secure parking. Furnishings above hotel grade. The owners are true hosts and they live on the premises. Gourmet breakfasts.

Traveller's tip
Newport is also a dressy locale.

“Great location”

The Innkeepers were very nice and accommodating. Our stay was relaxing. The location is within walking distance of many sites. Our front room faced a relatively busy street so we got a lot of the ambient street noise, but we were otherwise very comfortable. The off-street free parking was also a plus!

Traveller's tip
The innkeepers have a great list of local restaurants - definitely pick from the list!
