“cozy b&b”
Wife and I had a great time in Newport. Hotel was in a great location right by tourist and bellvue. This was our first b&b and we weren't sure exactly what to expect. The hotel was clean, had private bathrooms within the room, and very friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, ok and well made pancakes or eggs. Overall we were very pleased and would recommend to somone looking for a nice place to stay and a departure from chain hotels.
“newport”
Excellent B&B - location is fantastic, within walking distance to all tourist areas while off the beaten path. Very clean and confortable rooms. Owner is very nice and knowledgable on the area. Had a fantastic time!
“Great B&B”
Great B&B. It was our first time in a bed & breakfast so we don't have anything to compare it to. It was a great experience for us. Close to downtown so convenient to leave car and walk. Parking is a bit difficult in downtown area. Innkeeper Mark, was very pleasant and gave us a map and highlighted a bit of Newport upon our arrival. Close to trolley, convenient to Mansions and Cliffwalk.
“Don't miss this chance to stay in one of the best!”
We traveled to Newport RI for the Folk festival and decided a B&B was the way to go. We were a little early but still were greeted at the door and shown to our room. It was perfect. Very clean, large, well decorated with antiques and soothing colors. It's obvious that the owners like what they're doing and have put a lot of effort into making this B&B very comfortable. There was no noise from other guests or the kitchen. This is just a short 10 minute walk through narrow quaint streets to the downtown area with the shops, restaurants etc. but just far enough away to be in a quiet safe neighborhood. The owners were very accomodating with suggestions regarding the festival and attactions in town. The breakfast had several choices from light fruit cups to a solid omellette meal. Coffee was replenished aften and was always hot and delicious. We have stayed in a lot of places and this one is right there at the top of our list, a perfect experience in every way. We rely on reviews like this to guide us to the better run places and I'm happy to add my glowing review of this historic house in a great neighborhood. You won't be disappointed.
“loved the cozy feeling”
We only stayed one night, but it was very cozy. Loved sitting on the front porch, and just relaxing. There are no TV's in the rooms, but we watched TV in the sitting area, and felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The breakfast was wonderful - Mark has a menu from which to chose your entree - we sat outside under the covered porch and chatted with other visitors. we enjoyed it, and would definitely stay again when we visit Newport.
“Wonderful Bed and Breakfast”
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Marshall Slocum House. Upon check-in, Mark immediately showed us a map of Newport and told us all of the great things to do and see. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast each morning on the patio was great and delicious- there was also quite a large menu to choose from. The Inn was only a short walk from downtown and it was a very convenient location. We would definitely stay there again!
“Great family operated B & B”
Although we only had a short time in the Marshall Slocum House we enjoyed every moment. Friendly professional service and a really homely feel. Wish we had the opportunity to stay longer...
“Prima Inn dichtbij haven Newport.”
Vriendelijk ontvangst, prettige kamer (echt New England stijl) en op loopafstand naar het centrum van Newport.
