“Stay Away”

Even after make our complaints no action was taken to correc that the heat did not work, nor was there any internet connectivty for the wifi. The bath light switch was not connected to the wall and was floating behind the tile (safety issue) the shower did not have a soap dish so every thing had to be put down on to the floor. The TV was about 13". The Breakfast was not very impressive either it consisted of egg frattas, panckaes, french toast and cold cut ham. Could not get coffee before 8 AM which is a problem as I need coffee the minute I wake up.

“Some good things, some not so good.”

Door into room stuck, so very difficult to get out of room. Told desk and they said they would send someone up to look at it. No one ever came. Breakfast just ok - fruit was souring, egg dish dry and rubbery. Baked goods average. Coffee and whole grain bread for toast - very good! Location was wonderful and staff very informative when looking for information and directions around town. It's an old Inn, and it is evident in the room, but since don't spend much time in there, it's okay for a night or 2.

“guess we got the worst room? WARNING: Detached bathroom!”

location was ok... just a 5 min walk to the downtown area... 10 min to beach and cliff walk. We are very dissatisfied because we received a room with a detached bathroom! This inn fails to tell you there are about four or so separate houses that make up the hotel. In our house the entrance did not shut properly and on top of it we had to leave our room in the middle of the night to use the bathroom... very unsafe! Anybody could walk into the house! The bed was small and squeaky seemed clean though. The breakfast area was extremely tight... they have four houses yet put the breakfast in a 8x10 room.... breakfast was just decent... that is if you could get a table.

“Beautiful Room @ Bellevue Manor.”

Pros: - Antique furniture and decoration. - Clean room overall. - Nice neighborhood. - Quiet. - Convenient. - Excellent room for the price. Cons: - Thin walls. - A few cobwebs. - A few stains on the pillowcases.

“Quick Walk from the Harbor”

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was wonderfully helpful. Free parking was great, and the hotel was a quick walk from the Harbor area. Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable and went way beyond my idea of a continental breakfast.

“Wonderful atmosphere”

My husband and I loved the Inn on Bellevue. The room was great- very old fashioned, yet so comfortable. It was fun walking through the long, hallways, passing through little nooks, libraries, sitting rooms, etc.all with interesting art work and antiques. Very, very charming. The location was extremely convenient to everything and anything. I will definitely go back- the sooner the better. It's so reasonable, you can afford to go often.

“Great location, okay hotel”

Good points: It's in a great location somehow close to mansions, the waterfront, shopping & museums but quiet too. Our room was big enough & pretty quiet. Check in was easy. Breakfast was available with made-to-order pancakes, waffles or french toast. Really nice, new bathroom. Free parking. Good rate. Not so good points: The bed was a little lumpy. The shower curtain was moldy. The breakfast menu was varied but not impressive - indifferent store-bought pastries, so-so fruit cup, warmed up quiche, the hot items were made to order but not great. Storage for clothing was okay, just shelves & cupboards. There was nowhere to hang a dress. I knew there wasn't wireless access in our building and I didn't find that too limiting. If (big if) we stay there on our next trip to Newport I'll skip breakfast & go to one of two nearby coffee shops (one national/one local). The management was not very responsive about answering emails or phone calls.

“Great value”

For how expensive Newport, RI can be, this B&B is a great value. The savings basically come in the form of smaller and less well-maintained rooms. However, given that they have to work with older buildings, slanted floors, and an unrenovated infrastructure, they do their best to provide amenities and service. There's free in-room wi-fi, free parking, the sheets and towels are clean, there's AC, etc. Probably the best part is the amazing breakfast: fresh fruit salad, pastries, made-to-order waffles, french toast, etc. - all included with the daily rate. The location is also hard to beat: blocks away from the wharfs so you have access but not the bustle. Bottom line: this is not luxurious by any means but if you don't mind the feel of staying in someone's old, spare - but clean - bedroom (we had a private bathroom), this is a great choice for budget travelers.

“We didnt even have a bathroom in our room, rude service.”

I was very dissappointed with the Inn on Bellevue. We checked in and were told that our bathroom was 2 doors down the hall. I had to get dressed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. In order to get a room with a bathroom in it we had to pay more. The room was tiny and had absolutely nothing special about it. The bed was uncomfortable with stains on the covers and some reddish stains on the pillows. The blanket was nothing but a thin fabric. I would not stay here if i were looking for a hotel. When i tried to complain the staff was very rude to me and treated me like I wasn't good enough for them.
