“Surprisingly nice hotel. Pleasant stay.”
We spent 5 nights at this hotel. Driving up to this hotel, I was somewhat concerned that it would be old and not have all the comforts and conveniences we desire. However, that was not the case! The room had been recently remodeled, we had 2 queen beds, which was a complete surprise. Vaulted ceiling and a very large room. There was an extra vanity/sink outside the bathroom area, making getting ready much easier. We had a microwave, fridge, and a small balcony area with seating. The view wasn't grand, but no concerns there. The pool area in this hotel is wonderfu! The indoor pool is good-sized, 6 feet deep in the deep end, the hot tub is nice, the sauna and bathroom areas are clean and accessible, and there is plenty of seating around the pool, and also outside on the patio. The staff is extremely helpful and polite, and even when we knew they were going out of their way to help us, they never seemed bothered by it. The hotel was full, but it was quiet - we never heard any other guests while in our room. If we ever go back to Newport/Middletown, we will definitely stay there again. My only disappointment was that there was no continental breakfast offered, though the hotel is connected to an Applebees, where you can get basically a continental breakfast for a few dollars per person.

The Mansions and Fort Adams. Even if you're not into history, the view of the ocean from Fort Adams is worth the admission price!
Dining
Brick Alley Pub has the best lobster rolls. I'm still craving them days later!
Outdoors or beach
Take some time to walk the Cliff Walk. The views of the Mansions and the ocean are incredible! Bailey's Beach, if you can find it, is a gem!
