A beautiful old hotel but a little worn round the edges, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a building of this age. The staff were all, without exception, very friendly and extremely helpful. If you want modern bathrooms and perfect interiors this hotel is not for you. But if you prefer huge rooms (both bedroom and bathroom were probably the largest we've ever stayed in at any hotel) with lots of character and staff who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay you will adore this hotel. The restaurant food is very good too. Great breakfast which was freshly cooked to order.
Arrived around 5pm to a warm reception from both owners a husband and wife team. The B&B is a stone building converted with four separate rooms for guests which meant easy access direct to your room from outside. The decor was immaculate and very tastefully done. Room was equally nice with very modern en suite. We ate in Newmarket which is very close although there is a highly recommended gastro pub nearby. Breakfast was served in another beautifully decorated room with nice views of the garden and neighbouring farm. The breakfast itself was a work of art. Very friendly owners.
Stayed 2 nights in October with my wife and adult son, during a driving holiday in the south of England. Very impressed from the moment we entered the drive-way. Greeted warmly at Reception and escorted to the 2 rooms we had booked. They were spacious, modern, comfortable and very well appointed, with bathtubs in the rooms, as well as separate bath rooms, with Hermes toiletries for men and Bulgari for the ladies. Pleasant green outlook and very quiet, ensuring a comfortable rest. Dined at the hotel both nights and very impressed with the standard of the food and service. Good value for money also. You need a car, but Cambridge is close by and not a difficult drive. All in all, close to our best hotel experience in the UK.

Slight hiccup on arrival. We booked 2 rooms for four people. On arrival were advised that 1 couple was booked to stay in pub but other couple had to stay down the road in owners property. We were not advised prior to arrival therefore were not happy to do this. But with a bit of juggling and help from Ken the owner we were all able to stay in pub together. Ken and Ginny were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Nearly everything was perfect, we stayed in room 23 which had a lot of space. Only negative was the shower wasn't very powerful and felt a bit like a running tap. Bed was comfy. Breakfast facilities were great with full English and pastries / cereals etc.

This was our first experience of the apartments. The flexibility shown by members of staff on duty at the time of arrival was excellent - in our case my Wife found it easier to stay on the ground floor as the steps to the first floor (for her) proved quite steep. Not a problem for more abled persons
Everything was explained and we felt immediately at home.
The only issue I would bring to their attention was the occasional noise during the morning as people came in via the side gate. Everything else was very good and most of all, we look forward to going back for long weekends in future.
