Ideal place for ppl visiting Cobalt Business Park

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Peaceful stay away from city noise.
Cons: The breakfast options
Nice hotel in the heart of Cobalt Business Park. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. The added advantage is dining and eating options available at the site.

Pros: Leisure facilities were excellent.
Cons: Ranges of food on offer.
Location: Good location for all things to do.
Everything was good apart from our meal at the Italian restaurant, mix up with our order which kept us waiting for over half an hour. Not enough choice in either restaurants.

No complaints, has everything you need, would rank as 3.5 star rather than a 4 star

Nice hotel but out of the way!!

Posted 28-May-2014
Pros: Clean facilities lovely breakfast and helpful staff.
Cons: Less noise!
Location: Location didn't suit us as there wasn't much there!
Staff were friendly and helpful, we had a problem with the toilet in our room so they moved us to another room with a refund for one of the nights. The only downside was it did get very noisy late at night with children and people running up and down the corridors and slamming doors!!

Village Urban Resort Hotel Newcastle

Posted 22-Apr-2014
Pros: The pool was huge and very clean. There was a Costa Coffee which was very welcome. Plenty of parking available.
Cons: The carpets and room décor were both very dark and could do with brightening up.
Location: Good location providing easy access to city centre and other attractions
Overall it wasn't too bad but we wouldn't stay there again. The hotel is of timber frame construction making it very noisy indeed compared to a concrete constructed hotel. We could hear next door using the bathroom facilities and the room above us had been let to a company so all we seemed to hear was chairs and tables being scraped along the floor from around 7 in the morning. A big disappointment was the lack of a hotel "bible" in the room i.e. a book advising all the different opening times and prices of the various facilities. It was necessary to ask staff all the time as nobody seemed willing or able to volunteer all the information required. We went to use the swimming pool and nobody had thought to tell us that we needed £1 for the lockers so we ended up leaving our belongings unlocked. At breakfast we were left to fend for ourselves as to tea and coffee and the choice and variety of food was not brilliant. Also the room doors were very heavy and difficult to open and close quietly.

Reserved a upgraded room and was given a disabled room which had two beds and small shower with mould in corners. Asked to be moved which was granted !!! Should have happened initially.

Convenient and comfortable

Posted 15-Apr-2014
Pros: The casual atmoshere
Cons: Menus available in rooms
Location: Hotel brilliantly located for getting around Newcastle. Metro Centre for shopping, Durham for Cathedral, Alnwick for castle
We choose this hotel for proximity to family that we were visiting but were delighted with it and will definitely be staying again. The hotel has a buzz about it with people coming and going but it doesn't feel manic and isn't noisy. The staff were helpful and friendly with the breakfast staff all wearing jeans and polo shirts to efficiently seat us for a very good breafast. The leisure facilities were excellent making the trip more like a treat for us.
