Hotel stop over for a wedding

Posted 04-Oct-2014
Pros: The room was lovely with nice heavy curtains to keep the room dark.
Cons: The room isn't really tailored for those with long hair. The hair dryer needs upgrading and there wasn't a towel for my hair either!
Location: We visited for a wedding.
We stayed here for a wedding. The room was comfortable and we had the option to park our car directly outside of the room. The bathroom was good and the shower had pretty good power to it. The little tea pot made me happy. There was a lack of towels provided with only only a bath towel and hand towel each. Made drying my long hair quite difficult especially with the under powered hair dryer. I am just glad it was warm so I could leave it wet. The staff on the front desk were really helpful and helped with everything that we needed and even suggested things we had forgotten.

Great location for Beamish museum.

Pleasant knowledgable reception staff. Excellent location for the Beamish museum, and good for Durham using the park & ride. Restaurant of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable, pleasant stay

Posted 15-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
I usually use the larger hotel groups for my visits to the area but thought I would try one of the smaller hotel groups. Overall I had a pleasant stay, the bed was very large bed and extremely comfortable. The room itself was spacious and the furniture was traditional with plenty of work space. Although the heating was not working when I checked in, this was being attended to and was quickly rectified. Overall very pleasant staff with a more homely feel than the larger corporates that I usually use.

Clean , dry, parking an issue as there was a wedding on. Not too much noise from guests. Close to metro centre would stop again, but probably won't

Great hotel staff

Staff were so helpful arranging my early (very) departure breakfast. Room facilities were great especially the enourmous bed, had a great night's sleep. Will definately stay here again!
