Great location, modern decor, helpful staff

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: looked modern. helpful staff. everything you might need in the rooms e.g. TV, tea and coffee, good shower
Cons: Maybe some kind of divide/curtain between shower area and toilet to help keep your feet dry post shower.
Location: Its right in the city centre. train station is 2min walk. Revolution, House of Smith, Tup Tup, Florita all on doorstep.
Hotel is 2 minutes from the train station and also from some good bars and clubs. 5-10 min walk to shops. Hotel allowed us to drop our bags in a few hours before check in and it was no trouble to them. The hotel looks lovely and modern. The rooms are really small (no wardrobe but hangers and a rail) and you cant open the window (which is also small) but if you are just going away for a fun weekend in Newcastle, like us you will hardly be in your room so overall, good value. Bit tricky going back into the toilet after a shower as its a wet floor area with no door and the whole area gets quite wet. Easy check in and check out. We didnt have breakfast so cant comment.

The hotel was great for the price, breakfast not fantastic but did the job, had a fun few days and wasn't hindered by the hotel!

Very central

Cons: Not too keen on the frosted glass door for the bathroom (I like my privacy), I think the opaque glass used for the walls would have been a better idea
Location: Ideal for shopping, pubs, train station also the Quayside is not far either
Great hotel and only 5 - 10 mins walk from the train station (depending on how fast you walk) and considering it is close to the main road it wasn't that noisy, breakfast was excellent with plenty of options...they even lend you a brolly if it's raining ☔️

Affordable, functional and comfy

Posted 20-Nov-2014
Pros: I liked the way it seemed to have been well thought through: smaller rooms, but well-planned out and with good quality fittings.
Cons: Hot chocolate would have been a nice addition to the drinks options.
Location: It's a 10 minute walk to Gateshead across the bridge, which gives great views of the city. Recommend the Head of Steam pubs - good ale choice!
Budget hotels can be a risky choice or an expected compromise. I didn't know what to expect from Sleeperz but I felt the compromise I made for the affordable price was negligible. The room was well laid out and space maximised - I particularly liked the hanging rail and open shelving unit in lieu of a wardrobe, which must have left scope in the developers' budget for very a comfy mattress and duvet. The wet room was excellent, with lots of hot water and efficient drainage, and the towels were much larger than you usually get in a hotel. And they provided mugs - good-sized mugs! - for tea and coffee, an added bonus. Staff were friendly, the bar was open all night and the noise of the trains outside my window was quieter than what I'm used to back in London. My room was perfect for my needs: hot shower, fluffy towels, comfy bed, late night drink and very close to the train station. If you're looking for a wing chair and a full-sized bath, this isn't the place for you. But the large flat-screen TV might make up for it.
