Nice hotel - handy for city centre

Posted 22-Jul-2014
We only rated one night . Bit was fine . Air conditioning unit very noisy. Breakfast a little disappointing. Had to ask for a few things , ie marmalade - "do you mean that orange stuff"! No eggs. Small things - but detail does matter.

Modern hotel and helpful staff

Very nice and modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking arrangement is not great though (limited outdoor public parking across the road)

An alright hotel but nothing special

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: Convenient for City Centre and St James Park.
Cons: Breakfast and directions for parking.
Staff were great, room fine and bed comfortable. It would have been useful to know about parking before arrival as when you get to hotel there are no signs. Parking is on opposite side of road in St James car park where there are allocated bays for hotel guests but if you arrive at hotel you have to go on past and negotiate a one way system which is awkward. Breakfast was not good. "Hot" food was at best warm and though staff were apologetic there was no toaster. Warm food and bread not very appetising.

Superb city centre hotel

Posted 25-Jun-2014
Pros: Good central location, only a few minutes walk to the shops/bars.
Cons: The Shark Bar - not very cosy for a 4* Hotel !! Overall covered in TV's (think we counted over 30!!) and female staff wearing very little!!
Location: Excellent location right outside St James
All in all a very pleasant stay. We got upgraded to a suite upon arrival which was nice!

Handy for St James Park

Posted 25-Jun-2014
Pros: Style
Cons: Car park
A good rate, but could do with a car park which was attached to the hotel and a dedicated resturant.

Smart hotel convenient location

Posted 03-Jun-2014
Pros: Convenient parking opposite the hotel. Metro station opposite the hotel. A short walk fro the city center. Friendly staff.
Location: The hotel is opposite the Newcastle United football stadium. It is a short walk from the city center. China Town is very close.
We arrived early before the official check in time and were able to park in a designated parking close to the hotel. We were offered a room on the first floor but decided to wait until a higher floor room became available later. We were allocated a room on the 8th floor at the front of the hotel. It was reasonably quite apart from some sirens and morning traffic noise. The room was well furnished but quite small. It had a fridge, room safe, complimentary tea and coffee, an alarm and iPod docking station.

Ideal for St James's Park and the city centre.

Posted 02-Jun-2014
Pros: Comfortable and quiet. Great situation for stadium and city centre shopping.
Cons: I found the seating arrangements for breakfast very difficult as it was in a bar area with very high benches and I am only 5 feet tall.
Location: Next to St James's Park. 5 minutes walk to city centre. Metro station across the road. Walking distance to theatre and lots of amenities.
This hotel was ideal for us as we were going to a rock concert at the football ground. The suite was clean and tidy though one of the remotes was missing batteries and the standard lamp bulb was broken. These were minor details and did not worry us because we were out most of the time. Staff were lovely. Good choice of breakfast food. Very quiet.
