Nice hotel would come again

Posted 24-Sep-2014
Enjoyed the whole room apart from the pillows. They were lumpy and very uncomfortable. Which resulted in a bad sleep.

Near to the centre

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: The reception staff were very polite and helpful.
Location: Location is OK, close to town centre
For the cost ,(£255 for one night) I feel I need to respond to this. The car park is over the road and you need to pay extra for this. The windows were filthy. Fan in the bathroom did not work. Bar was loud.

Average hotel

For the price that you pay for the hotel, I would expect much better. The rooms are nothing special as what would be expected. The bathroom lay out is shocking. The shower has no door and a small drain meaning water goes all over the bathroom. The shower also takes about 10 mins to get hot. Behind the toilet, there is a shelf which is both annoying and pointless and you can easy bang your head onit. The bedroom it self was okay, expect our bin was still full from the last person. The airconditioning was also very loud. for a high quality hotel you would expect a plastered and painted ceiling to look at, however it is simply concrete and not smart at all. The breakfast was also a disappointment, not very hot and some of the food seemed reused for example the mushrooms tasted like garlic mushrooms prepared for a steak dinner last night? Overall, no where near as good as we expected.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Air conditioning units
Location: Bang in the town centre. Loads to choose from to do
Good clean hotel with great staff. Regularly stay there when I am in the North East.

Nice hotel - handy for city centre

Posted 22-Jul-2014
We only rated one night . Bit was fine . Air conditioning unit very noisy. Breakfast a little disappointing. Had to ask for a few things , ie marmalade - "do you mean that orange stuff"! No eggs. Small things - but detail does matter.

Modern hotel and helpful staff

Very nice and modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking arrangement is not great though (limited outdoor public parking across the road)

An alright hotel but nothing special

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: Convenient for City Centre and St James Park.
Cons: Breakfast and directions for parking.
Staff were great, room fine and bed comfortable. It would have been useful to know about parking before arrival as when you get to hotel there are no signs. Parking is on opposite side of road in St James car park where there are allocated bays for hotel guests but if you arrive at hotel you have to go on past and negotiate a one way system which is awkward. Breakfast was not good. "Hot" food was at best warm and though staff were apologetic there was no toaster. Warm food and bread not very appetising.
