Short mid-week stay

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Pros: Very centrally located and a decent breakfast.
Cons: I wouldn't expect to have to pay for parking.
Location: A great location for exploring Newcastle.
The Sandman Signature was very nicely decorated with small but comfortable rooms.

Tiny Room and very noisy

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Sound proofing. If other cheaper hotels can do it there is no excuse.
Stayed here because it is so close to our daughters university residence. Extremely tiny room, can't even open you suitcase easily. We faced the main street unbelievable noisy with traffic and sirens. Did not sleep well, fortunately only 1 night. Very expensive for what you get/don't get.

Smart hotel beside St. James Park

Posted 27-May-2015
Pros: The staff were most helpful and their attentiveness showed in the details they remembered from check-in to check-out.
Cons: The shower enclosure could really do with a door?
Location: The hotel is literally feet away from St. James Park, which is undoubtedly a bonus for football fans, but it is also close to nearby malls and centre.
A very smart and interestingly quirky decorated hotel in a very handy location, with excellent staff throughout. Room and bed was very comfortable and well appointed with good free wifi. In the bathroom, the amenities scored very highly with my wife by virtue of there being a magnifying make-up (or shaving?) mirror, plus a shower head that wasn't fixed to the wall/ ceiling. Possibly the only downside being the fact that the (very powerful) shower did spray all over the place soaking the bathroom floor due to the 'open door' style of enclosure.

Superb location. Very quiet rook

Posted 18-May-2015
Despite being allocated a room directly opposite the hotel lift, it was soooo quiet. Bed was really comfortable, room extremely clean, and hotel staff very helpful. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk and a good hairdryer. Minor (and only very minor) niggles were that the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were difficult to extract from the narrow tubes and the shower tended to flood the bathroom floor if it was set to full power. That aside, would definitely return.

Nice hotel and looks good inside and outside

Posted 06-May-2015
It was amazing time and the hotel looked, amazing inside and outside, the room was good and looked good but kind of smaller then expected but still good and the bed is comfortable but one pillow was hard and uncomfortable. Food was ok and get a lot but it can be a it pricey and like the idea of the microwave in the room but would be good if the plates would fit in the microwave

first stay in newcastle

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: good locaton for city - clean - good staff
Cons: the rooms need T-L-C ( a bit worn ) junior suites small not worth the cost -go for a standard room
Location: close to city centre and metro
good hotel but -not 4 star- good location- lots of traffic noise - needs some T-L-C then it could be 4 star

This was not a suite. Room way too small

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: If you pay extra for a suite you should get a suite. Not a bedroom with a fridge and microwave in. I've been in bigger women
It is not acceptable to put a partition through a bedroom, stick a small sofa in the corner of the new partitioned section and call the room a suite. It was tiny - so small that glass sliding doors had to be used to access bathroom and partitioned area as a normal door would not have space to open. Bathroom was form over function and décor was twee. May as well stay in a Premier Inn
