“RECOMMENDED !!”

I took my girlfriend to New York as a surprise for her 40th birthday. The WESTIN was situated perfectly for the variety of trips we did. The staff were very helpful and the room was superb. I would recommend trying to get a corner room on one of the upper floors as the views took our breath away. The mini bar and room phone were very expensive. The management are very accomodating if you have any special requests. We would definitely go back. A good 4 star hotel.

Area recommendations

Times Square - Bright lights , hustle and bustle. Central Park - Ice Skating ( week day as weekend is double the price ) BLUE MAN GROUP show - Different but loads of fun. BB Kings Blues Bar if you like Blues Music. National Library - Interesting and massive. Natural History Museum - Excellent exhibits , very interesting and massive. Empire State building - Excellent views and very interesting.

When to go

Early December. You get the Christmas feel but not the extra cost at Christmas. The holiday season doesn't start until about the 18th so anything before will be a little less busy. New York is still manic though.

Getting there

We took early flights there and late flights back to get the most out of the days.

Getting around

YELLOW CABS are very easy and safe but the Underground is a cheaper.

“Perfect!”

This hotel was in a perfect location for our visit to NYC! Friendly, helpful, clean, nicely decorated...there were four of us in one room and it was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is a little industrial (loud flushing toilet, felt the need to share) but all in all I would stay there again in a minute!

“Good Hotel, Great Location”

The Westin Times Square is located within a few blocks of times square, rockerfeller centre, Macy's and the theatre district, it is a perfect location. Hotel was very nice, staff were good, bed was very comfy!

So much to see, just take in as much as you can!

When to go

We went in December to do all the Christmassy stuff, it was wonderful, but if you don't like crowds stay away at this time of year, it was VERY busy. However, it definately gets you into the Christmas spirit!

“Great hotel will return next year”

The Westin times square is in an ideal location, for shopping,sightseeing and the theatre every where is within walking distance . The rooms in the hotel were a good size very clean, comfortable and serviced daily. We found all hotel staff courteous friendly and extremely helpfull we will be returning to New York and to this hotel would highly recommend this hotel to anyone .

Area recommendations

Would recommend a rickshaw ride/tour of Central Park, a must is vist to the 9/11 Memorial site.There are so many iconic places to see you will not be disappointed every street corner reminds you of a film/tv show.

“Very Nice Times Square Hotel”

For a quick weekend trip to see some Broadways shows, this is an excellent hotel. The staff were friendly and the location was excellent. This hotel is just one street away from the current Hugh Jackman and Harry Connick Jr. shows. The only downside was the limited bathroom counter space for make-up when trying to get ready. The windows cracked open a little bit which was nice so you could hear the sounds of the city when you wanted to. I will stay here again and I preferred it over my stays at the Marriott Marquis, Renaisance Times Square and Doubletree Times Square.

“Less than satisfied”

Unfortunately a significant let down. We were hoping for a romantic get away to celebrate a birthday. Paid extra for a 'deluxe corner room'. We were very unimpressed. The room was drab, cold in decorating and feel, literally freezing cold bathroom floors with nothing to walk or stand on. Towels a bare minimum, etc. Given the Westin name and the price paid, we simply expected much more.

“Rooms need re doing”

Hotel lobby was fantastic, however the room was very clean and spacious but was beginning to look a little worn an tatty, rooms could defiantly do with a renovation.

“perfect location for visiting Times Square”

We enjoyed the convenient location of the hotel and appreciated never having a crowded elevator or waiting too long for an elevator even at a busy time of year (Thanksgiving). We enjoyed resting in the lounge and having late night drinks in the bar. This is our third stay at this hotel and we will stay here in the future.
